"Nothing Compares To Metal" setzt VELVET VIPERs Konzept mit Texten über klassische, poetische und mythische Themen fort.
Wie schon auf den ersten drei Alben der neuen Ära der Band, haben Jutta und Holger alle Songs gemeinsam komponiert.
Für VELVET VIPER ist es sehr wichtig, Musik zu machen, die die Mentalität und die kreative Freiheit der Band widerspiegelt, denn die Welt braucht Originale, keine Kopien.
Zum allerersten Mal gibt es auf dem Album einen Song mit deutschem Text, der ein privates kleines Statement von Jutta ist und nur auf der CD und der digitalen Version des Albums zu hören ist. Alle Songs auf dem Album sind etwa 5, 6 oder 7 Minuten lang, weil die Band der Meinung war, dass die Songs genug Raum brauchen, um sich mit ihren verschiedenen Teilen und komplexen Strukturen zu entfalten und die Dramatik zu erzeugen, die VELVET VIPER mit ihrer Musik vermitteln wollen.
VELVET VIPER haben sich für einen natürlichen Old-School-Sound entschieden, mit nur ein paar kleinen Keyboard-Einlagen hier und da, und sie haben versucht, ihren Live-Sound, den sie so lieben, auch einzufangen.
VELVET VIPER touren und nehmen seit einigen Jahren in unveränderter Besetzung auf und haben ihren Musikstil mit druckvollen Beats und großartigen Melodien dieses Mal wirklich auf den Punkt gebracht.

Die Zeiten von ZED YAGO sind schon lange,lange vorbei!Schade...dass das damals so endete!ABER...
...die "unermüdliche" Jutta Weinhold hat trotzdem immer weitergemacht.Sei es mit verschiedenen Projekten oder aber AUCH mit VELVET VIPER!Und DAS ist auch gut so.Sie hat RICHTIG gute Musiker rangeholt und mit ihnen "Respice Finem" im Jahr 2018 veröffendlicht,welches in der Szene positiv aufgenommen wurde und viele zu "Beifallsstürmen" hingerissen hat.Natürlich auch mich,der Jutta und Band 1989 das Erste Mal in der Dortmunder Westfalenhalle Live erleben durfte-damals noch mit ZED YAGO.Aber um auch mal ganz ehrlich zu sein:DAS,was mich absolut fasziniert hat,war (und ist) Jutta´s Stimme sowieso und ihre Art,Songs zu präsentieren und zu leben.Und DAS is ist bis heute so geblieben.Alle reden von DORO...SIE sei die Queen of Metal...Mag sein!FÜR MICH ist und bleibt allerdings Jutta "MEINE Queen of Music and Voice and acting".Und ich kann mir vorstellen,das der ein oder andere das genauso sieht.
Aber wir schreiben nun das Jahr 2023.Und wir bekommen ein Album um die Ohren "geknallt"...Liebe Leute!Wer das Ding nicht sein "Eigen" nennt,der macht echt was falsch!Wenn ich nun alle Alben,angefangen 1991 mit dem Debüt vergleiche,fällt mir auf,das dieses hier noch mehr Metal insich trägt.Ich möchte jetzt nicht sagen,das es "wütender" klingt.Es KNALLT!Angefangen bei der Gitarrenarbeit über die Drums über die Bassarbeit bis hin zum Mix im Studio!Da stimmt alles!Über Juttas KÖNNEN muss ich keine weiteren Worte verlieren.Das ist hinlänglich bekannt,das sie "ES" einfach kann.Aber in der Gesamtheit,mein Damen und Herren...Ein Album,das man besitzen MUSS!
Dieses Album zählt für mich zu meinen persönlichen Lieblingsalben.Und alle anderen Alben NATÜRLICH auch.Danke Jutta!Und Danke NATÜRLICH an Holger,Johannes und Micha!Ihr habt da echt verdammt gute Arbeit an euren Instrumenten abgeliefert!Hoffendlich sehen wir uns bald mal wieder!

Freedom Call - The M.E.T.A.L. Fest

Ließe man eine empirische Untersuchung durchführen, bei welchen Konzerten die Stimmung im Publikum am ausgelassensten ist, so wären Freedom Call garantiert unter den am häufigsten genannten Acts. Die süddeutsche Melodic Power Metal-Band um Frontmann und Gründer Chris Bay hinterlässt bei ihren Shows regelmäßig ein euphorisiertes Publikum, das von den eingängigen Songs und der begeisternden Bühnenperformance mitgerissen ist. Freedom Call haben sich ihre weltweit große Anhängerschaft im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes erspielt. Was also könnte näherliegen, als von Zeit zu Zeit eines dieser stimmungsvollen Konzerte via CD und Blu-Ray zu dokumentieren und somit auch für die Nachwelt zu erhalten? Voila, hier ist die neueste Version: ‚The M.E.T.A.L. Fest‘ wurde bei zwei Shows in Pilsen und Regensburg im Sommer/Herbst 2022 aufgezeichnet und zu einem bunten Konzertmitschnitt zusammengefasst. Veröffentlicht wird das Album am 14. Juli 2023 über Steamhammer/SPV als Digi-CD inklusive Blu-Ray-Disc sowie als digitaler Download. Bereits am 2. Juni 2023 erscheint mit der Vorabsingle ‚The Metal Fest‘ ein brandneuer Studiosong, der zugleich den heißen Festivalsommer einläuten wird.
„Die Entscheidung für die neue Live-Scheibe ist absolut spontan gefallen“, erklärt Chris Bay. „Als wir die Einladung zum ‚Metalfest‘ im tschechischen Pilsen bekamen und auf dem Weg dorthin erfuhren,dass beim Festival nicht nur hochwertiges Aufnahme-Equipment, sondern auch circa acht bis zehn professionelle Kameras zur Verfügung stehen, haben wir intuitiv entschieden, das Konzert aufzuzeichnen. Und um genügend Material für weiteres Bonusmaterial und interessante Einblicke hinter die Kulissen zu bekommen, wurde zusätzlich unsere Show in der Regensburger ‚Eventhall Airport‘ aufgenommen.“
Das Ergebnis ist ein bunt gemischter Querschnitt beider Konzerte, oder wie Bay es nennt, „ein Patchwork, bei dem uns die Authentizität wichtiger war als irgendein seelenloses und auf Hochglanz poliertes vermeintliches High-End-Produkt.“ Von einem sterilen Produkt kann bei ‚The M.E.T.A.L. Fest‘ in der Tat keine Rede sein: Wie es die Fans von Freedom Call gewohnt sind zeigt der Mix der beiden Konzertmitschnitte eine Band, die sich erneut in einen Rausch spielt und neben ihren wichtigsten Klassikern ‚Warriors‘, ‚Metal Is For Everyone‘ oder ‚Freedom Call‘ und den für sie typischen Festivalnummern ‚Power And Glory‘ oder ‚Land Of Light‘ auch ein paar humorvolle Überraschungen parat hat: Da gibt es auf der Bonus-DVD ein Roadmovie über die ‚70000 Tons Of Metal‘-Kreuzfahrt,die Bay & Co. Ende Januar/Anfang Februar 2023 auf die Bahamas brachte. Und als besonderes Leckerli der Blue-Ray eine humorige Metal-Version von Leonard Cohens Evergreen ‚Hallelujah‘.Last but not least: Exklusiv und als Opener für die aktuelle Live-Scheibe haben Freedom Call einen neuen Studiosong aufgenommen und ihn passenderweise ‚The M.E.T.A.L. Fest‘ betitelt. Auch hier zeigen sich die ganz besonderen Qualitäten der Band: Der Fokus all ihrer Songs liegt auf eingängigen Melodien und treibenden Grooves. Also genau die bewährte Mischung, mit der Freedom Call seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1999 immer wieder punkten und mit denen die Band auch im Festivalsommer 2023 so manche Bühne im Handstreich nehmen wird. Wie formulierte es Chris Bay so zutreffend: „Freedom Call feiern im kommenden Jahr ihr 25-jähriges Bandjubiläum, wir müssen also niemandem mehr etwas beweisen, sondern können uns auf das konzentrieren, was uns und unseren Fans Spaß macht.“ Dieser Spaß ist bei ‚The M.E.T.A.L. Fest‘ garantiert gegeben!

Zugegeben...ich habe Freedom Call noch nicht Live gesehen...Allerdings kommt die LIVE-Stimmung gut rüber!Ich denke,man muss Freedom Call schon mögen,um sie LIVE "ertragen" zu können.Persönlich ist das vom musikalischen Aspekt aus gehört NICHT mein Ding!Zum Glück sind ja Geschmäcker verschieden-was ja gut ist...Sonst wäre das ganze ja langweilig!Das die was draufhaben...ohne Zweifel!
Für wahre Fans ist das Album das Album "das gelobte Land",mit einer Auswahl an guten Songs der Band.So,wie ein LIVE-Album sein muss!Allerdings finde ich,dass das Album "zu glatt" wirkt.Ich kann nicht wirklich beschreiben,was ich da meine!Ich möchte es jetzt nicht "aufgesetzt" nennen...
Grundsätzlich ist zu sagen,das ich schon wesendlich schlechtere LIVE-Albeb gehört habe.

Mitch Malloy – The Last Song

Mitch Malloy continues to rock the night away burning the midnight oil! After several years as the frontman for the iconic rock band Great White, Mitch returned to the studio writing and recording his new album, THE LAST SONG, slated for international release.Once again, Mitch is undertaking an album solely by himself from start to finish – songwriting, producing, instruments, mixing and mastering. Mitch reveals, “For this record, I have really taken my time. In the past, I’ve usually been on deadlines..With this album, there was so much material in my head from a few years of not having a true creative outlet, so it was a lot to process. Mitch has even been the voice for Starburst candy! Mitch is also an award-winning songwriter and has written with legendary songwriters like Jim Weatherly, Richard Lee,Mike Reid, Desmond Child, Dennis Morgan, Victoria Shaw and Gray Burr. He’s been signed to publishing deals with Warner Chappell and Chrysalis Music but later launched his own publishing company to control his copyrights. Mitch loves the craft of songwriting...telling a story and resonating with his audience. "Songs are so powerful...it's amazing just how much a song can impact a person's life," says Malloy.
“Once again, life has delivered a lot of new material…from losing family members, to moving to the beach, to having a teenager. There’s definitely no shortage of inspiration!”
Mitch’s tenure as an artist has spanned several decades beginning as a regular on the New York music scene in the 80s. Mitch soon garnered a major recording deal with RCA/BMG Worldwide and achieved success on the pop and rock charts, landed a coveted spot on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and has toured globally. Mitch's voice has been highly sought after as a front man for legendary acts as well as a guest vocalist on other artists' projects. In the mid-90s Mitch was asked to replace Sammy Hagar as lead singer for Van Halen but after spending time and recording with the band he declined. “When the band appeared on the MTV Music Awards with Dave [David Lee Roth], the fans expected his return – I expected his return. I felt as cool as the opportunity was, it just wasn’t the right time,” said Malloy. THE LAST SONG will be released in the US on Malloy’s label, Godsend Records, and internationally by Cargo Records based in the UK. WOW...was für ein GEILER Sänger!4 Jahre (2018-2022) hat der GUTE Mitch das Micro innegehabt bei Great White.Aber erst jetzt fällt er mir auf...Warum?Keine Ahnung.Wahrscheinlich,weil ich Great White in den letzten Jahren nicht wirklich auf dem Schirm hatte.Naja...lag wohl auch daran,das Great White nicht unbedingt so mein Ding waren in all den Jahren.Manche Bands hört man so "nebenbei"...Ihr versteht,was ich meine.
Aber Mitch Malloy...Junge,Junge...Ich glaube,da hab ich in der Vergangenheit echt was verpasst.Schande über mich!Und jetzt höre ich dieses Album mit verdammt gut arrangierten Songs.Hinzukommt die Abwechslung innerhalb der Songs,welches es mir als Musikfan einfach macht:Ich höre so ein Album auch gern 3x oder mehr hintereinander.Und-wie erwähnt-Mitch Malloy mit dieser fantastischen Stimme "um die Ecke",die einen schon packen kann.Man sollte sich einfach mal einlassen auf diese Scheibe,die verdammt viel SPASS macht!Und selbt wenn man die Stimme wegnehmen würde auf diesem Album,würde das Ding gut klingen.Denn wenn man mal "nur" auf die Musik achtet,stellt man fest,wie Abwechslung geht.Also...kaufen,hören und GEIL finden!

TONY MITCHELL is best known as being the singer songwriter & fronting the 90s classic rock band “Kiss of the Gypsy” signed to Atlantic Records USA & Warner Chappell.

Netter Hardrock!Nett anzuhören!Zeitlos...wie ich finde!Manchmal hab ich gedacht:Schau ich "Baywatch"?Aber musikalisch ist das schon gut gemacht.Haut mich zwar nicht so vom Hocker-aber es ist ok für mich und meine Ohren,die schon viele,schlechte Musik ertragen mussten:)
Geil fand ich die Solo-Parts der Gitarre.Der Rest der Instrumentierung "schwimmt" ebenfalls gut rum.Erwähnen möchte ich noch die,wie ich finde,gut umgesetzen Chöre,die vorallem nicht übertrieben viel eingesetzt wurden.Die "wirken" an den Richtigen Stellen gut eingesetzt.UND die Chöre hören sich an wie Chöre.Das gibt diesem Album dieses "gewisse Extra" und macht so jeden Song sehr rund und kompakt!
Alles in ALLEM gesagt:Gute Songs,nicht nervig,guter Mix.Ich kann euch das Album sehr empfehlen.Hört einfach mal rein.

After the band’s debut album “Mask”, released independently in 2012, the band released their sophomore album “Immortal Waltz” in 2015, produced by the legendary Michael Wagener (Dokken, Accept, Skid Row). In March 2017, Edge Of Paradise released a five song EP, “Alive”, which was produced by Chuck Johnson (Korn, Slipknot) and mixed by Jay Ruston, Mike Plotnikoff, and Michael Wagener. The band then signed with Frontiers Music Srl for the release of their third album, "Universe" (November 2019) which saw them achieve well over one million streams on Spotify for the album's lead single, the title track. The band also enjoyed a successful European tour with Sonata Arctica at the end of 2019. While home preparing for multiple tours to support the album in 2020, the global pandemic hit and the band's touring plans were sidelined. When it became evident that touring likely wouldn't be in the cards, the band set themselves to writing music for what would ultimately become their fourth album, "The Unknown", which was produced by famed producer Howard Benson.

Nun ja...Die Ersten Takte dieses Album waren für mich etwas "befremdlich"...Ich dachte,ich bin in einem Science Fiction-Film...
Klar...ich kenne diese Band namendlich.Hab auch bestimmt auch schon das ein oder andere Stück musik von von ihr gehört-unbewusst...JETZT,wo ich das gesamte Album höre..Ja ok!Kann man hören.Musikalisch finde ich es auf jeden Fall ganz interessant.Haut mich jetzt aber auch nicht um!Für mich klingt das irgendwie alles GLEICH und es wird irgendwann uninteressant und langweilig.Es gibt da so ein paar nette Instrumenten-Parts...Aber das war´s dann auch für mich!
Ich spreche je GRUNDLICH keinem Künstler sein Können ab...Denn JEDER kann ja irgendwas...Aber,und da bin ich jetzt mal ganz ehrlich...Die Stimme nervt mich!Und das macht mir es mir schwer,dieses Album so RICHTIG Geil zu finden.
Nee...ich mag das nicht!Und ich denke,dass ich das auch nicht in 10 Jahren mögen werde!Die Arbeit an den Reglern im Studio wurde gut erledigt,dann die Produkt gibt Soundmäßig viel her...Vielleicht auch an machen Stellen etwas zuviel...

Houston - Relaunch III

Houston is back with a third album in their 'Relaunch' series, the aptly titled "Relaunch III" on July 14, 2023. The basic concept behind the Relaunch albums is for Houston to shine a light on obscure, unknown AOR gems from their personal musical collections. Houston, an AOR band themselves, are true AOR connoisseurs and want to pay their respects to these legendary artists and songs.
The first Relaunch album was released in 2011 and featured a cover of 'Runaway' by Dakota. The band collaborated on a video for the song with Danny MacAskill, a professional BMX rider, and his sponsor Red Bull and it became a huge success, with over 90 million views on YouTube and close to 2 million streams on Spotify, as of this writing. Much to AOR fans delight, and especially the guys in Houston, the success of the 'Runaway' cover got Dakota to reunite and record a brand new studio album. Let's see what magic "Relaunch III" might achieve!
The Stockholm, Sweden based Houston first appeared on the scene with their self-titled debut album in 2010, which was selected as the Best AOR Album of 2010 by Classic Rock Magazine. The band then went on to play the festival circuit with appearances at Sweden Rock, Download Festival (UK), and Rock of Ages (Germany), as well as touring the UK with Swedish sleaze rockers Crashdïet. Since that time, aside from the success enjoyed with their cover of Dakota's 'Runaway', the band has been consistently releasing high quality albums featuring top notch AOR originals, including their most recent studio album, "IV" in 2021.

Typischer AOR eben.Aber ganz gut.So wie AOR halt sein muss.Musikalisch-also mal OHNE Vocals "gedacht"(das geht,wenn man sich auf die Songs einlässt) ist das schon sehr interessant gemacht.
Kommen wir dann auch mal gleich zu den Vocals...Ok.Singen kann der Mann-ohne das anzuzweifeln und ich meine das auch garnicht böse.ABER...manchmal nervt mich die für mich ETWAS die "Monotonie" in der Stimme.Wer mich kennt...Ich bin immer sehr direkt und ehrlich ;)Aber er "zaubert" sich wunderschön durch jede Nummer-DAS gefällt mir!Ich höre kein unnötiges "gekasper" mit der Stimme in den höheren Vocals-Bereichen!
Was mir noch auffällt...Die Songs sind toll arrangiert.Keine unnötigen musikalischen Parts so nach dem Motto:"Ich muss jetzt unbedingt zeigen,was ich so kann!"Das ganze ist mit Köpchen umgesetzt worden.Vorallem...DAS ist Mucke,die mir auch morgens um 7 Uhr kurz nach dem aufstehen und OHNE Kaffee schon gute Laune bereitet und mich in keinster weise nervt.So MUSS das sein.
Interessant:Die Arbeit an den Keyboards.Ich bin ja eigendlich nicht der,der es mag,wenn soviel Keyboardsounds zu hören sind.Aber auch hier klingt das interessant und abwechslungsreich.TOLL!Gitarren und der "Rest" werden ebenfalls mit Köpfchen eingesetzt!Super!
Fazit:Zu meckern hat man ja immer etwas.Das ist normal.Wenn man will,findet man immer etwas,was einem nicht gefällt.Auch dieses Album ist nicht perfekt.Kein Album ist perfekt.Aber mir gefällt in der Gesamtheit gehört das Scheibchen und ist eine KLARE Kaufempfehlung von mir!

Robledo - Broken Soul

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the second solo release from Chilean vocalist James Robledo, "Broken Soul" will be released on July 14, 2023. This album follows the 2021 release of his well-received debut solo album, "Wanted Man".
For this album, James is joined by his Sinner's Blood bandmate Nasson (Chaos Magic) on guitar, drummer Jacopo Martignoni, and producer/bassist/keyboardist Alessandro Del Vecchio, who also produced his debut album.
James Robledo is a Chilean vocalist who comes from a family of musicians with prominent places in the history of Chilean music, with both national and international success. In his youth, he began his foray into metal and rock. In 2004, he was part of the Chilean Band Alternancia who in 2008 took first place in the Talento Crudo Festival (TVN Televisión Nacional de Chile). In 2011, James was invited to be part of Banda Argentina Thabu, with whom he released two albums. In 2016, James left Thabu to take part in the popular TV show THE VOICE CHILE 2, where his participation generated a stir thanks to his outstanding vocal performances.In early 2017, James joined the band Renegade, with whom he recorded an album which featured a duet with the renowned Chilean singer Ronnie Romero (Lords Of Black, Sunstorm, Rainbow). In 2019, James signed with the Frontiers label as frontman of his new band Sinner’s Blood, which also features the renowned producer, songwriter, and musician Nasson (Chaos Magic). Sinner’s Blood debut album “The Mirror Star” showed his outstanding abilities, positioning him as one of the most prominent new hard rock/metal voices from the entirety of South America. The instrumentation and songwriting were superb on the Sinner's Blood debut and James' voice equally impressed. Frontiers was eager to explore more avenues to work with James and get his powerful vocals wider recognition, thus the idea of a solo album was born. "Wanted Man", written and produced with Alessandro Del Vecchio, showcased this wonderful singer's talents.
Additionally, earlier this year, it was announced that Robledo had joined Demons Down, a new band featuring guitarist Francesco Savino (False Memories), along with hard rock scene veterans guitarist Jimi Bell (House of Lords, Autograph), drummer Ken Mary (ex-House of Lords, Alice Cooper, Fifth Angel, etc.), and bassist Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot, bass, ex-House of Lords, etc.). Their debut album, "I Stand" saw this gathering of young performers and established skill players delivering a quintessential classic hard rock album.

Schöne ,fette Produktion mit "sägendem" Gitarrensound,der absolut passt und neben den Vocals diese Produktion dominiert!Wobei...entweder hab ich was mit den Ohren oder dröhnt das manchmal bei einigen Songpassagen?An meinen KRK-Monitoren kann es nicht liegen...Hmmm...Der gesamte Sound ist fett gemixt.Aber vielleicht etwas viel Basslastig...?
Ansonsten geht das Material schon ganz gut ab.Und ich habe festgestellt,dass das ein Album ist,welches mir besonders SPASS gemacht hat,wenn ich die Lautstärke hochgezogen habe.Grundsätzlich brauche ich keine laute Musik.Aber man probiert ja als "Schreiberling" auch etwas rum...So auch ich!
An manchen Stellen dieses Albums klingt das auch etwas Metallastig.Auch das gefällt mir und gibt dieser Produktion den nötigen Dampf,den diese Nummern brauchen.Wunderschön finde ich übrigens die Arbeit des Drummers.Der hat nen´ tollen Job gemacht.Ebenso sauber sind die Gitarren-Soli bzw. die Arbeit mit der Gitarre.macht schon SPASS zu lauschen.

Scream Maker have announced the upcoming release of their fourth album, "Land Of Fire" on July 14, 2023. The new album sees the Polish heavy metallers building on the strengths of their previous three releases to deliver their finest hour yet.
Scream Maker formed in Warsaw, Poland in late 2010 when the original members, including current member Michał Wrona (guitar), gathered together out of a shared love of heavy metal. Wrona is joined in the current incarnation of Scream Maker by vocalist Sebastian Stodolak, bassist Jan Radosz, drummer Tomek Sobieszek, and guitarist Bartosz Ziółkowski. The band has produced three full-length studio albums (2014's "Livin In The Past", 2016's "Back Against The World", 2022's "Bloodking"), plus one EP ("We Are Not The Same") and played over 300 shows in Poland and abroad, including gigs with luminaries such as Judas Priest, Motörhead, Megadeth, Saxon, Slayer, Nightwish, Primal Fear, Stratovarius, Onslaught, and many more. The band recorded their debut album, "Livin In The Past" with producer Alessandro del Vecchio (JORN, Hardline, Revolution Saints) and the album featured guest appearances from Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater and Wojciech Hoffmann of Turbo. The album was released by Perris Records in April of 2014 in the U.S. and Europe and followed by a tour that included shows with Primal Fear, Paul Di'anno, Blaze Bayley, and more. In May 2014, the band toured China for the first time, playing six festivals and unexpectedly becoming the first Polish artist to have an album released by a domestic record label in China. In the summer and autumn of 2015, between gigs with Saxon, Black Label Society, and Motörhead, Scream Maker gathered at HEAR Studio in Warsaw to record their second album, "Back Against The World". The album was crafted under the guidance of Radoslaw Kordowski, as well as, once again, Alessandro Del Vecchio. The album was releasing in May 2016 and once again the band got busy playings shows in support of the album, including shows with Megadeth, KORN, Slayer, another tour of China (their third, but not last, as China has become a regular touring destination for the band), as well as the third edition of the Ronnie James Dio Memorial that they had started pack in 2014, but this time, the tribute included several shows. The band would organize a fourth edition of the Ronnie James Dio Memorial in spring 2017 and in December 2017, the band opened the first ever Polish concert by the Dio Returns tour. The band has continued with the Ronnie James Dio Memorial shows as the years have gone on, turning it into a regular tradition. Once the global pandemic hit in 2020 and slowed the band's regular busy touring schedule, they focused on fine-tuning and recording material for their third full-length album, "BloodKing," which was released in January 2022 and subsequently re-released by Frontiers Music Srl in December of the same year after the band signed a deal with the label. The album was mixed by Tomasz "Zed" Zalewski, with two songs, "When Our Fight Is Over" and "Hitting The Wall" being mixed by Alessandro Del Vecchio, and was very well received by both fans and critics, with Metal Hammer Poland giving it a glowing review. With touring opening back up, the band got busy playing gigs again and planned their own two-day festival in Warsaw (with Polish legends Turbo headlining) in September 2022, which also included another edition of the Ronnie James Dio Memorial. In the fall of 2022, the band embarked on another tour with the Ronnie James Dio Memorial, after which they devoted themselves to writing and recording their fourth full-length album, which would ultimately become "Land Of Fire".

Um das mal KLAR zu sagen:mich haut das nicht so vom Hocker!Klar...der Sänger ist gut.Richtig gut!Aber der Rest?Das "plätschert" so dahin.Sicherlich...da gibt´s so ein paar Highlights,die mich aber auch nicht so überzeugen.
Das VIERTE Album...Hmmm...Dafür find ich es ehrlich gesagt nicht überzeugend.Da ist noch viel Luft nach oben!Kann das evtl. sein,das man sich musikalisch noch nicht wirklich gefunden hat. bzw. weiß man noch nicht wirklich,in welche Richtung es gehen soll?Keine Ahnung.Aber so wirkt es auf mich.
Schauen wir mal...Potenzial ist auf jeden fall vorhanden.Aber wenn ich Metal "lese"(siehe Info oben),möchte ich auch Metal hören.Klar ist,das da noch ganze Menge fehlt z.b. mal etwas härtere Vocals.Die sind gut...Aber für RICHTIGEN Metal etwas "zurückhaltend".meiner Ansicht nach muss da mehr kommen.Vorallem im Vocals-Bereich.Nochmal:Der Sänger ist gut.Er kann "es"!Er sollte aber auch mal etwas mutiger sein mit seiner Stimme.
Ich bleib dran und hoffe,dass das nächste Album etwas mehr "zündet" bei mir!So wie jetzt ist es NETT und hörbar...Aber von einem Metal-Album erwarte ich noch mehr "Auf-die-Fresse"-Mucke!

Specifically, this tribute album focuses on Bolton's earlier career, when he was known as a rock singer and features appearances by members of The Big Deal, About Us, Stormwarning, Girish And The Chronicles, Find Me, FM, and more.
The idea for "Steel Bars - A Tribute To Michael Bolton" came about when Serafino Perugino, President & Head of A&R for Frontiers Music Srl, had the idea to pull together a mix of newer vocalists on the label with established singers on the roster and have them pay tribute to an era of Bolton's career that he is particularly fond of. And so, new names like Girish Pradhan (Girish And The Chronicles), Dave Mikulskis (a rising talent who is working with Jim Peterik), Sochan Kikon (About Us), Ana Nikolic (The Big Deal), Nevena Brankovic (The Big Deal), Santiago Ramonda (Stormwarning), Stefan Nykvist (Sarayasign), and James Robledo (Sinner's Blood) appear alongside Steve Overland (FM), Gui Oliver (Landfall), Robbie LaBlanc (Find Me), and Ronnie Romero (Michael Schenker, Rainbow).

Nun ja...Vorweg:Kann man hören,aber muss man es im Platten-Schrank haben?Ganz ehrlich:Eher nicht.
Das ganze Thema wurde ganz nett umgesetzt mit guten Musikern,guten Arrangements und ebenso guten Sängern!Die Produktion ist wahrscheinlich für Michael Bolton-Fans eher interessant.Für mich eine nette "Abwechslung",aber nichts,was ich jetzt 10 x die woche hören müsste,weil es mich umhauen könnte.
Michael Bolton ist ohne Zweifel einer der Besten Sänger.Das zweifle ich mit Sicherheit nicht an.Und so ein Album wie das hier...Ja...kann man mal so machen...um ihm Tribut zu zollen,

LATER SONS - Rise up

The LATER SONS are on a time travel through decades of rock and AOR from the eighties to today. They deliver songs with lots of hit potential and fine hooklines which do not sound dusty or old-fashioned. Actually, they sound exciting throughout the record. The compositions on “Rise Up“ meet a contemporary production and mix. Authentic sounds by authentic players and lovers of the rock genre. Experienced artists who know their business.
Founding members are the former LIONCAGE musicians Thorsten Bertermann (v) and Torsten Landsberger (dr) who ignited the flame in late 2019 after the split of LIONCAGE. After several line-up changes on guitars foremost, today’s line-up is ready to strike.
The debut showcases the full range of rock and AOR influences of everybody involved. They represent a cool mixture of typical eighties stadium rock flavored with AOR and a slice of southern rock. The album was produced and mixed by Torsten Landsberger, except for “Follow Your Dream” which was mixed by Pete Woj and “Eye Of The Storm” which was mixed by Steve Hardy; mastering at Sterling Sound and artwork by Tim Eckhorst.

Interessant umgesetzt!Wie im Info erwähnt höre ich Einflüsse u.a. aus den 80ern.UND...
... es grooved schön!Hier passt einfach alles.Vorallem musikalisch wird jeder Song von Anfang an auf den Punkt gebracht,so das ich als Hörer nicht auch noch minutenlang warten muss,bis der eigendliche Song mal losgeht!Noch schöner ist aber (auch) der "ohrwurmcharakter" einiger Songs.Ich hab mich z.b dabei erwischt,das ich den Refrain von "Follow your dream" in der Birne hatte.
Die Vocals von Thorsten Bertermann...SAUSTARK!
Besonders hervorheben möchte ich aber auch die tolle Gitarrenarbeit.Da weiß jemand,was er macht.Aber das beziehe ich weiterhin auf die Gesamte Band,die einen hervorragen Job gemacht hat.Der Mix...hm...ja...der hätte minimal noch ETWAS mehr "Bumms" vertragen können.Aber ok.Das ist eine Nuance,die allerdings auch nicht den guten Eindruck dieser Band und dieses Albums schmälern.Der Scheibling macht in der Gesamtheit SPASS.Und DAS ist es doch was zählt.

BLOODBOUND - Tales From The North

Wenn es darum geht, die Grundwerte eines zeitlosen Power Metals zu verteidigen und sie mit frischen Stilvarianten und spannenden Geschichten zu verknüpfen, kämpfen die schwedischen Power Metaller BLOODBOUND seit je her an vorderster Front. Mit bislang neun Studioalben in 16 Jahren hat die sechsköpfige Band um die Gründungsmitglieder Tomas Olsson (Leadgitarre) und Fredrik Bergh (Keyboards) ihre Vielseitigkeit und ihren Ideenreichtum unzählige Male unter Beweis gestellt.
Mit ihrer aktuellen Veröffentlichung „Tales From The North“ schlagen BLOODBOUND jetzt ein packendes neues Kapitel unbändiger Kreativität auf.
„‚Tales From The North‘ ist ein Konzeptalbum über die Wikingerzeit und das Leben unserer Vorfahren hier oben in den dunklen, kalten und unwirtlichen Umgebungen des Nordens“, erklärt Leadgitarrist Tomas Olsson und fasst den Inhalt der elf Songs zusammen: „Im Laufe der Scheibe verflechten sich verschiedene Legenden und Mythen und kulminieren in der epischen Schlacht des Jahres 1066, die das Ende der Wikingerzeit markiert.“ Wer den Sound von BLOODBOUND bereits kennt, kann sich bildlich vorstellen, mit welch metallischer Wucht die Beteiligten die Geschichte umsetzen. Veröffentlicht wird „Tales From The North“ am 7. Juli 2023 als 2-CD Digipak inkl. Live-CD und als streng limitiertes Boxset sowie farbige Vinyl-LPs. Als erste Singleauskopplung wählte man das imposante ‚Odin`s Prayer‘.
Doch nicht nur inhaltlich, sondern auch musikalisch haben BLOODBOUND nochmals kräftig zugelegt. Ihr bereits per se temporeicher Stil erfährt auf „Tales From The North“ einerseits bewusste Querverweise an frühere Bandklassiker, gleichzeitig aber aufgrund der vielseitigen Instrumentierung eine dem Thema angemessene Färbung. Olsson: „Die Songs sind schneller und näher an einigen unserer früheren Sachen wie ‚Moria‘ und ‚Nosferatu‘, haben aber komplexere Arrangements. Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger „Creatures Of The Dark Realm“ (2021) gibt es tiefergreifende Keyboard- und härtere Gitarren-Sounds. Zudem wurden traditionelle nordische Volksmusikinstrumente integriert, um dem Konzept des Albums zu entsprechen. Es ist immer noch reiner Power Metal, aber wir versuchen ihn auf das nächste Level zu bringen.“
Ein geschickter Schachzug, der vor allem ‚Drink With The Gods‘ und dem finalen ‚1066‘ ihr episches Flair verleiht, während‚The Raven`s Cry‘ laut Olssons „im Territorium von Folk Music beginnt, dann in den Power Metal-Modus übergeht und sich in einen fast klassischen Barockchor verwandelt.“ Um all dies in schwermetallische Töne zu verwandeln, bedarf es einer glänzend eingespielten und handwerklich erstklassigen Besetzung. Die hat sich mit Olsson und Bergh, Leadsänger Patrik Selleby, Rhythmusgitarrist Henrik Olsson plus Bassist Anders Broman in den zurückliegenden 15 Jahren formiert, und 2017 mit dem Einstieg von Schlagzeuger Daniel Hansfeldt die perfekte Ergänzung bekommen. Produziert wurde „Tales From The North“ von BLOODBOUND selbst, gemischt und gemastert hat Jonas Kjellgren (Amorphis, Overkill, Sabaton) in den schwedischen ‚Black Lounge Studios‘, das Cover-Artwork stammt von Péter Sallai (u.a. HammerFall, Powerwolf).
Die Zeichen stehen also auf Sturm, zumal BLOODBOUND in den kommenden Monaten auf einer großen Headliner-Tournee und bei wichtigen Festivals (u.a. Karmoygeddon, RockHarz, Masters of Rock) die Werbetrommeln für „Tales From The North”kräftig rühren werden. Olsson ist sich sicher: „2023 wird ein großartiges Jahr für BLOODBOUND!“

Mal vorweg:Ich "verreiße" nicht gern Alben!Bevor denn jemand motzt!Aber GRUNDSÄTZLICH gebe ich hier IMMER meine ganz persönliche Meinung wieder,die nicht die DEINE sein muss!Was ja auch ok ist!Den Geschmäcker bzw. Meinungen dürfen gern unterschiedlich sein!

Ich sag´s gleich vorweg:Mich langweilt das Album.Für mich klingt eine Nummer wie die davor...Themen/Geschichte(n) in Alben bzw. in einzelnen Songs zu verarbeit...AKZEPTIERT!Find ich auch gut.Aber in der Gesamtheit nervt mich die Mucke von Bloodbound enorm.Ich kann das mal hören. Und wer Fan ist,kann das natürlich gern sein.Ich werde es nicht.Es strengt mich an,was ich höre!
Der Mix ist ok und ich höre auch eine gewisse Abwechslung...Aber sonst...NEE!
