“In the past, the show got reviewed before the music did,” laughs Alice. “We had hit #1 albums, but it was always about what we did on stage. For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. That’s what we did for this record. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”

Beyond hundreds of syncs, everyone from Etta James, The Smashing Pumpkins, Megadeth, and The Flaming Lips has covered his tunes. The Beastie Boys, Disturbed, and countless others have sampled him. His collaborators have notably included the late Vincent Price, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, and Jon Bon Jovi, to name a few. Plus, he co-founded Hollywood Vampires alongside Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and
Johnny Depp.
Most recently, 2021’s Detroit Stories garnered widespread critical acclaim with Classic Rock grading it “4- out-of-5 stars” and hailing it as “his most concise bolt of precision-tooled heavy rock in 50 years.” It bowed at #1 on the Billboard Album Sales Chart, hit #1 in Germany, and garnered 9 Top 10 debuts worldwide.
Throughout 2022, he collaborated closely with his band members and longtime producer Bob Ezrin, putting together what would become Road.
“I said to everybody, ‘This is your album, so I want you all to bring songs in’,” he recalls. “Hearing Ryan or Tommy gives it so much personality. The backbone is the group. Once they shared their ideas, Bob and I sat there and connected the songs. It was like directing a play. We’re old school; we still write thematic albums.”
Fittingly, the record opens with “I’m Alice.” A dusty drumbeat sets the tone as guitar wails in the distance. Alice’s instantly recognizable rasp takes hold, “I know you’re looking for a real good time. So,let me introduce you to a friend of mine. I’m Alice. I’m the Master of Madness; the Sultan of Surprise…so don’t be afraid, just look into my eyes.”
“Ryan brought in ‘I’m Alice’, and we were like, ‘This NEEDS to open the record’,” he goes on. “You don’t fight it. You just let it be what it is. It sets up the rest of the whole album.”
Elsewhere, “White Line Frankenstein” hinges on a head-nodding riff as it steamrolls towards a chantable chorus, “They call me ‘White Line Frankenstein’,” before a Tom Morello solo, hot enough to burn rubber.
“If you’re a truck driver who’s been out there a long time, you rule the road,” he adds. “In the song, this surreal tough guy is driving on white lines for his whole life, and he’s probably DOING white lines.
So, ‘White Line Frankenstein’ would be his CB handle. It’s monstrous and definitely a stage song.”Ragtime piano and a funked-out bass line cut through the distortion on “Big Boots” as the lyrics detail a diner interaction with a whole lot of double entendre. “It’s the funniest song,” he grins. “You’ve got a waitress saying, ‘Take me on tour’, and the guy says, ‘Well, she’s got big boots’. That’s the joke.”
Kane Roberts (a touring and recording collaborator with Alice’s in years past who briefly rejoined Cooper on the road in 2022) makes a special guest appearance, contributing the raucous and rip-roaring “Dead
Don’t Dance.” Other special contributors to the album include Rage Against The Machine's' Tom Morello, who co-wrote, and plays and sings backing vocals on "White Line Frankenstein," and Buckcherry's Keith Nelson and MC5's Wayne Kramer, who also co-wrote new songs with Alice.
This particular sonic wrecking crew reupped “Road Rats” from 1977’s Lace and Whiskey as “Road RatsForever” as “a tribute to the roadies.” On the other end of the spectrum, “100 Miles to Go” captured the yearning to get home at the end of a tour. They topped off the journey with a cover of The Who’s “Magic Bus.” Alice grins, “We love the original, so we made it more hard rock.”
In the end, the road is as open as ever for Alice Cooper.“There’s no downtime for me at all,” he leaves off. “I’ve got this album, this tour, Hollywood Vampires,and a whole lot more. Most guys my age want to rest and relax. I’ve never felt more up. Physically, I’m in as good of shape as I’ve ever been. I’m not looking for any way out. I’m not going retire, and I don’t want anyone to think I am. I’m at the top of my game right now.”

Man mag dieses Album "Konzept-Album nennen"...ABER...
...hinter JEDEM Album/Produkt steckt ein Konzept,ohne das garnichts geht!DAS ist num mal Fakt!Interessant finde ich aber die Tatsache,dass Alice Cooper mit "Road" das Leben "on Tour" beschreibt".Was geht so ab,wenn man unterwegs ist etc...DAS macht dieses Album schon ganz interessant.Auch,weil hier nicht irgendeine Geschichte erzählt wird.Wer selbst on the Road ist oder war,weiß was ich meine!
Dieses Album enthält viel Humor...ist aber auch gleichzeitzig sehr Gitarrenlastig!Gitarrenlastig deshalb,weil Mr. Cooper hat sich für "Road" mit Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Keith Nelson (Buckcherry) und Kane Roberts gleich vier Gitarristen als Gäste eingeladen,die diesem Album nochmal so Richtig "Pfiff" geben".
Laut Recherche wurde dieses Album zu 95% LIVE im Studio aufgenommen worden sein.
Das Album erscheint auf CD und verschiedenen Vinyl-Varianten mit insgesamt 13 Songs.Sogar eine Limited-Box soll herrauskommen,die ein Trucker-Cap enthält inkl.Schlüsselanhänger,Duftbäumchen und mehr enthält,um so "Richtig" am Leben während ein Tour teilnehmen zu können...Na denn...

DARK SKY - Signs of the time

Anfang der 80er Jahre als Schulband in Rottweil/Deutschland gegründet, gelangten DARK SKY in den 90er Jahren erstmals mit ihrem Debütalbum „Believe It“ auf die internationale Landkarte. Insbesondere in Malaysia hatte man großen Erfolg. 2002 erschien das zweite Album „Edge Of Time“, das sie auch in ihrem Heimatland auf die Landkarte brachte. Es folgten „Living & Dying“, „Empty Faces“ und „Initium“, die die Band von ihrer härteren Seite zeigten, ohne ihre typischen Melodien zu verlieren. Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Live-Albums/DVD im Jahr 2018 begann die Band Ideen für das neue Album zu sammeln.
Da wir alle wissen, was im Jahr 2020 passiert ist, ist es keine Überraschung, dass das Album erst jetzt erscheint. Dazu verließen während der Pandemie alle Bandmitglieder außer Gründungsmitglied und Hauptmann Frank Breuninger die Band und beendeten ihre musikalische Karriere. Mit Harold Merkx an den Tasten, Jadro Bastalic an der Gitarre,Francesco Pisana am Bass und Steff Grimm am Schlagzeug fand er neue Musiker, die frischen Wind in die Band brachten.
Auch „Signs Of The Time“ wurde vom langjährigen Produzenten und Freund der Band,Markus Teske (Symphony X, Vanden Plas), produziert. Da DARK SKY eine lange Freundschaft mit den deutschen Superstars KISSIN’ DYNAMITE verbindet, beschloss Frank einige Songs mit ihnen zu schreiben. „Forgiveness“ basiert auf einer alten Idee des KDSängers Hannes Braun, die Frank zu einem Lied vollendet hat. Der frühere KDSchlagzeuger Andi Schnitzer, der schon einige Shows als DARK SKY Drummer spielte,schrieb die Texte für zwei Songs. „Signs Of The Time“ ist nicht nur das bisher härteste Album der Band, sondern auch ein Neubeginn!

Laut Band soll dieses Album das "härteste der Band" sein...Mag sein.Ich muss aber auch zugeben,das ich andere Album dieser Band nicht so wahrgenommen habe in den vergangenen Jahren.
Grundsätzlich gefällt mir das,was ich hier höre.Alles ist schön eingängig.Manche Songs besitzen "Ohrwurmcharakter".Das Material wurde gut arrangiert und gut produziert!Abwechslung ist allemal gegeben!Es ist rockig.UND GENAU DAS macht dieses Produkt aus.
Auch die Vocals,und das ist für mich noch ein Pluspunkt,werden mir nicht mit "akrobatischen turnereien" um meine Ohren geballert!Frank Breuninger hat hier einen guten Job am Micro gemacht.Hinzukommt die Gitarren-Sektion,die zusammen mit dem Gesang für mich die tragenden Säulen dieses Album darstellen.Alles andere ist etwas 80er-angehaucht.Besonders die Keyboards geben nochmal dem ganzen die nötige würze.Die Drumarbeit ist solide,und ist erst bei genaurem hinhören ganz interessant!Leider geht der Mann am Bass etwas unter...oder anders gesagt:ich nehm ihn leider nicht wahr...
Ok...alles in allem ist das ein Album,was nicht schlecht ist!Aber ich würde eher sagen,das es nicht zu meinen "All time-Alben" gehören wird.Allerdings sollte das Teil auch in keiner gut sortierten Album-Sammlung fehlen!

Der König der Idioten, Sir Hannes, stirbt sein ganzes Leben lang für seine Ideologie: Punk, Metal, Musik, Kultur, die Liebe und seine Dimension für ein selbstbestimmtes Leben im Universum.
Nicht nur auf dem Song "SchwArz" und "Darkness" drückt er seine morbide, selbstzerstörerische Gefühlswelt aus, die er in den letzten 2 Jahren bei 3 Krankenhausaufenthalten und Begegnungen sammelte. Psychiatrie-Einweisungen, Geschäftsschließungen, Kriege, Pandemie etc. bereicherten sein Sinnesleben.
Die Liebe mit das wichtigste Gut, ist ein Grundstein der IDIOTS, wie bei "Punk Rock Bunny" deutlich wird.
Deren Leidenschaft für Fußball kommt auf dem Song "Never Give Up" zum Vorschein, bei dem sie dem Wort "Hooligan" eine andere Identität verschaffen.
Auf dem Album-Titelsong "König der Idioten" wünschen sie sich einen König, der sein Volk liebt, schützt und für sein Volk kämpft und lebt!

Jaaa...Ich freu mich total über diese Veröffendlichung!Und wie ich es von Hannes und seinen Leutchen gewöhnt bin,knallen die Herrschaften mir 12 Nummern um die Ohren,die wie immer intensiv und mit Hirn und Verstand produziert wurden!Und noch was:PUNK is not dead!Auch wenn es den Anschein hat,lebt diese Szene!Und das zeigt auch dieses Album!Wütend und direkt...geradeaus...mitten in die Fresse!
Wer Hannes und Band einmal gesehen/gehört hat,weiß,das besonders sein "Ding" auf der Bühne macht.Er gibt einen Sch...auf das,was er da singt/denkt!ABER...er beleidigt niemanden.Und genau dass ist ja auch das Problem mittlerweile:Wer die Wahrheit von sich gibt,ist böse...ein schlechter Mensch!Realitäten sind vielen Fremd!UND...wer anders ist generell,der ist auch meißtens unten durch.Egal...ich empfehle mal,diese Band direkt nach dem Aufstehen zu hören.Das ordnet meiner Ansicht nach die Hirne!
Danke für dieses Album und alle davor!Und weil das hier genau mein Ding ist...vergebe ich!

LIVERBOX - The Great Spirit Of Rock ’N‘ Roll

The Great Spirit Of Rock´N´Roll!
LIVERBOX ist eine Glam Rock Band aus Oulu, Finnland. Sie wurde 2015 als Coverband mit Schwerpunkt auf 80er-Jahre-Metal gegründet und hat anfangs Tribute-Shows für viele klassische Hardrock- und Metal-Bands wie IRON MAIDEN, WHITESNAKE, JUDAS PRIEST,KISS, AC/DC und DEEP PURPLE gespielt. Am 1. Juni 2018 hat LIVERBOX sein lang erwartetes Debütalbum über City Of Lights Records veröffentlicht. „Rock N‘ Roll Salvation“
wurde in den Wah Wah Studios in Oulu, Finnland, aufgenommen und von Kari Vähäkuopus produziert, der zuvor mit Metal-Bands wie BURNING POINT und CATAMENIA zusammengearbeitet hat.
Das Album erhielt gute Kritiken in den Medien und sie haben ausgiebig in ganz Finnland getourt. Aber nicht sehr lange. Denn dann wurden auch sie, wie die meisten Menschen auf der Welt, ziemlich hart von Covid getroffen.
Aber jetzt ist LIVERBOX zurück. Mit neuem Label und neuem Album! „The Great Spirit Of Rock ’N‘ Roll“ wurde von Janne Huotari produziert und gemischt, der vor allem für seine Arbeit mit finnischen Bands wie LORDI und TEMPLE BALLS bekannt ist. Die Basic-Tracks wurden live im Studio aufgenommen, so wie die Band glaubt, dass sie gespielt werden sollten. Schmutzig und rau! Wer Street Glam Rock mag, für den ist LIVERBOX die perfekte

Glam Rock..hm...aber mit punkigen Einflüssen.Und die überwiegen - finde ich!Höre ich da auch etwas D.A.D?
Grundsätzlich finde ich das Album garnicht schlecht.Und LIVERBOX haben so ihre eigene Art,die Songs zu spielen!ABER...teilweise find ich das ganze etwas monoton.Vielleicht liegt es auch am Gesang,der etwas mehr "strahlen" könnte!.Der ist nicht schlecht-denn der Junge kann schon singen.Aber mir fehlt da dieses gewisse "ETWAS".Das lenkt etwas von den gut umgesetzten Songs ab.Da sind schon so ein paar Paar "Perlen" dabei,die aber auch nicht so wirklich zur Geltung kommen.Das ist schade.
Insgesamt gesehen ist da meiner Meinung nach musikalisch noch viel Luft nach oben.So auch beim Gesamtsound,der ETWAS FETTER sein könnte.
Es sind Nuancen die fehlen,um mich letztendlich zu 100% zu überzeugen!Aber ich denke,das da in den nächsten Jahren noch mehr kommt.

WEST ALLEY - A night to remember

WEST ALLEY is a band from Gothenburg, Sweden that has its roots already in the late 80’s. At the time they got inspired by several groups which were playing the AOR sound – like Journey, Toto, Kiss,and stayed together for a few years. They consist of Magnus Björkroth (lead vocals, keyboards), Jack Nielsen (bass, background vocals),Niclas Lundström (guitars, background vocals) and Jonas Michaneck (drums).
During the 80’s, the Swedish group wrote a lot of songs which they never forgot and when they met again four years ago, they started talking about giving them another chance by finally recording and releasing them.
WEST ALLEY signed a record deal with Germany based label Pride & Joy Music in early 2023 who will release the debut album “What A Night To Remember” on August 25th, 2023!
“What A Night To Remember” was recorded at Valvet Studios,produced by Magnus Björkroth and mastered by Joakim Styren (Panoramamusic). The artwork was designed by Jonas Michaneck.

Erinnert definitiv an Journey und Toto!Aber Kiss?Vielleicht etwas...Fakt ist-und das meine ich garnicht böse-kann der Sänger mehr,als diverse andere Vocalisten bekannter Bands.Besonders die höheren Vocal-Bereiche sind ein Merkmal dieser Band.
Hinzukommen verdammt gute Songs,die auf den Punkt arrangiert wurden und die für den ein oder anderen SCHÖNEN musikalischen Moment sorgen!Oder anders:Ich fühl mich sehr wohl,wenn ich die Songs höre.Und das ist mir persönlich auch wichtig,wenn ich Musik HÖRE und genießen möchte.Manchmal stresst eine Band/Künstler.Ihr versteht,was ich meine?!
Aber das hier...?Toll!Und da bin ich wieder an diesem Punkt:Skandinavier "können es" besser...Also Musikumsetzen,arrangieren etc.Naja...es gibt da auch Ausnahmen-aber sehr wenige!Aber die Mehrheit der Skandinavischen Bands machen mir persönlich mehr Spass,als viele anderen Bands anderer Länder!
Für ein Debüt-Album ist das hier schon verdammt gut!Gern mehr davon.Ich persönlich kann euch raten,diese Band mal zu "testen"!

LANCER - Tempest

Swedish Heavy Metal commando LANCER have completed the recordings on their fourth, new studio album “Tempest” and signed a new record deal with the new German label Fireflash Records (MEZZROW, TAILGUNNER, HOLY MOSES and others), who will release the album worldwide on August 11th, 2023. "Tempest" was recorded by the band and Anders Backelin (LORD BELIAL a.o.) at “Armageddon Recordings Studio”, who also mixed and mastered the album along with guitarist Per-Owe Solvelius, who was the main producer of “Tempest”. “It is heavy, it is dramatic and it is a new direction for Lancer’, reveals new vocalist Jack L. Stroem.
"I can't believe it's been six years since last time we released an album", says guitarist Fredrik Kelemen and adds: "But with the line-up changes, the pandemic and the intention of making "Tempest" a great comeback album, we let it take its time. We have developed our sound, it's a bit darker, especially lyrically. Production-wise, more dynamic and gritty. A bigger picture of sound, with elements we have never used before.
The cover artwork was created by Dimitar Nikolov, who did artworks for ROSS THE BOSS, METAL INQUISITOR, BLIZZEN a.o. in the past. "We wanted the artwork of the cover to symbolize this change, with the devastating storm drawing in with the wasteland it creates. We have been known for using birds on our previous album covers, so the demon raven of "Tempest" seemed only natural, and the title is just a more epic and stronger word for storm, in my opinion. Overall I want to use the most well-known cliche of all time: this is the best album we have done so far! And it's totally true, all jokes aside. We are absolutely thrilled to release it to the world!"
LANCER invaded the metal scene in the spring of 2012 with their debut EP “Purple Sky”. The EP got a warm welcome from all around the world and gave the band a record deal with the Swedish label Doolittle Group AB, owned by the famous metal vocalist Christian Liljegren (NARNIA), and they also signed a deal with Japanese label King Records at this time.
In early 2013, LANCER’s self-titled debut album was released worldwide. Produced by Tommy Johansson (SABATON, MAJESTICA) and Ronny Milianowicz (SHADOWQUEST, ex-DIONYSUS), “Lancer” received great reviews from all around the world, including “Sweden Rock Magazine”, naming the band “a new hope for European power metal”.
LANCER’s sophomore album “Second Storm” was a lesson in melodic metal and followed a long tradition of outstanding Swedish metal bands, like HAMMERFALL, MORGANA LEFAY, DREAM EVIL, TAD MOROSE and many more. The album was recorded in the famous “Leon Music Studios” with producer Gustav Ydenius (ENFORCER, SISTER SIN a.o.). Being released on Despotz Records in April 2015, ”Second Storm” earned amazing reviews from metal press all over the world, naming the band “future successors to the throne of melodic metal”. During the fall of 2015 LANCER joined German power metal band FREEDOM CALL as support act on tour and received a fantastic reception from the fans!
When LANCER announced that they would start the recordings of their third album in summer 2016, the renowned German metal label Nuclear Blast Records reached out to the band, and a new record deal was signed. LANCER entered “Leon Music Studios” once more with producer Gustav Ydenius. This time the band chose to let the world famous mastering engineer Miro Rodenberg (AVANTASIA, RHAPSODY, KAMELOT) of “Gate Studio” in Wolfsburg/Germany, master the album. Following the signing to Nuclear Blast, LANCER went to Japan for the first time and performed at a sold-out show at the “Astro Hall” in Tokyo. The third album “Mastery” was released worldwide in January 2017, and the band immediately embarked on a European tour supporting HAMMEFALL and GLORYHAMMER. Back home, LANCER made their debut at renowned “Sabaton Open Air” festival, before singer Isak Stenvall and drummer Sebastian Pedernera announced their departures from the band.
After recruiting singer Jack L. Stroem (VANDOR) and drummer Pontus Andrén LANCER's line-up is yet again complete and stronger than ever! ”Finding both Jack and Pontus seems like a one-in-a-million hit! Klingt ganz ok für mich.Aber Streckenweise wirken die Songs etwas "überladen" auf mich.Zu hektisch!Das stresst mich!Man kann es mal hören-aber dann bin ich auch schon raus!Vielleicht werd ich einfach alt...lach
Sicherlicherlich gibt es da die ein oder andere Nummer,die ich ok finde...wo ich auch das Arrangement mag!ABER...in der Gesamtheit?Nö...Fan werde ich nicht.Sorry,für die klaren Worte.
Zu viele Gitarren-Parts können meiner Ansicht nach ein Album auch "zerschießen"...Weniger ist manchmal mehr!Der Gitarrensound ist aber gut,weil er "sägt".Das ist schon etwas,was ich mag.Naja...und die Vocals?Hm...ja gut...ich möchte ja grundsätzlich niemanden beleidigen...Mir geht´s ja immer nur um Musik und nicht um die Bandmember PERSÖNLICH.Die kenn ich auch (meißtens) garnicht...Aber zurück zu den Vocals!Die sind gut,könnten aber auch weniger in den höheren Vocal-Bereichen unterwegs sein.Immer "NUR" oben rumsingen...Für mich als Hörer etwas nervtötend-leider!
Ein durchwachsenes Album...

Musikalisch ist das hier hiert ein Abstecher zurück in der 80er-Jahre.Und das find ich gut.
Was mir aber mal GRUNDSÄTZLICH auffällt,ist die Tatsache das sich viele Bands "zurückbeamen in die 80er und diese (GEILE) Zeit als musikalische Grundlage ihrer eigenen Songs zum Vorbild nehmen!Diese Zeit war musikalisch verdammt bunt.UND nicht nur musikalisch.
Das ist hier auch meiner Meiner Meinung nach auch eine musikalische Zeitreise zurück in die 80er.Und dort scheinen sich die 4 Members der Band auch wohl zufühlen.Das Material ist "GERADEAUS" auf den Punkt gespielt,besitzt keine "Umwege" und jeder Song kommt direkt auf den Punkt!Es klingt locker,wohl dosiert aber durchdacht!
Und die Jungs meinen das,was sie hier eingespielt haben,verdammt ernst!Die 80er dienen als Vorlage,werden aber nicht "verarscht"-wie bei anderen Bands...
Der 80er Sound ist wieder da und das ist auch gut so.Andere Bands orientieren sich mittlerweile immer mehr an dieser Zeit.
Du bekommst hier 6 Songs...aber die haben es insich!Gern würde ich noch anderes und noch mehr Material hören von dieser Band.Warten wir einfach mal ab,was da noch so kommt.Bis dahin VERGNÜGE ich mich mit dieser EP!

Sein neuester Streich «The Dreamer –C Part 1» erzählt die klassische Geschichte des Alten Testaments von Joseph.Am Ende muss Joseph ins Gefängnis für etwas,was er nicht begangen hat...Teil 2 soll/wird 2024 folgen!So weit so gut...
Ersteinmal sei erwähnt,das hier Sänger wie Ted Leonard (Spock's Beard, Pattern Seeking Animals), Matt Smith (Theocracy) und Jake Livgren (Kansas) am Start sind,die mit ihren Stimmen umzugehen wissen.Die Parts sind schon mal Hammermäßig besetzt und bedürfen keiner weiteren Kritik!die Namen stehen für sich!
Insgesamt gehört ist das schon eine mächtige Produktion,die nicht nur dem Prog-Fan gefallen sollte,sondern auch der rein Klassische Musikfan dürfte sich wohlfühlen beim hören.
EIN Highlight für mich ist das als A-Capella dargebotene "I Will Wait On The Lord"!Wahnsinn!Ein weiteres Highlight ist das von Talon David gesungene "Slave Boy",das sie straight auf den Punkt rüberbringt!TOLLE Sängerin!
Naja...ich hab GRUNDSÄTZLICH nix zu meckern.Das Thema ist gut musikalisch umgesetzt worden.Dann hörst du gute Musiker...gute Stmmen...ein FETTE Produktion!Alles gut!Das ganze Thema ist spannend umgesetzt worden!

Vorab sei erwähnt,das sich hier Musiker der Bands Secret Sphere und Elvenking zusammen getan haben.
Klingt (ebenfalls) nach 80er-Jahre.Zumindest gibt Einflüsse!Herausgekommen ist dabei netter Sleaze-Rock!Nicht mehr und nicht weniger...Man muss Sleaze mögen...zumindest geht es mir so!Aber es wurde gut umgesetzt,was ich hier höre.Inklusive guter Gitarrenarbeit und einer zum Sleaze"angepissten" Stimme(mein ich nicht böse),wird sich der Sleaze-Fan freuen.
Die Songs gehen insich von vornherein gut nach vorne und bieten dem Hörer keine Pause,weiter zu hören.Langweile kommt hier nicht auf.Mir persönlich ist das ganze etwas zu "hektisch"...Aber eben jeder so,wie er mag!
Groovig kann die Band.Also lege ich jedem mal hier das Album ans Herz.Einfach mal reinhören und selbst entscheiden!

U.D.O. - Touchdown

Er ist einer der Inbegriffe des internationalen Heavy Metal schlechthin: Mit seiner Charakterstimme prägt Udo Dirkschneider seit den 80ern legendäre Rockhymnen. Rund fünf Jahrzehnte auf den Bühnen der Welt machen ihn zu einer Ikone.
Trotz der langen Historie und den vielen Aufs und Abs, die das Rockleben so mit sich bringt,schreibt Udo Dirkschneider seine Geschichte immer wieder verblüffend neu. So auch in diesem Jahr!
Am 25. August erscheint das neue Album seiner Band U.D.O., »Touchdown«, und einmal mehr ist der Name Programm, denn genauso wie der „Touchdown“ im American Football für Spieler/innen und Mannschaft ein wichtiges Punkteziel beschreibt, verhält es sich auch für Udo Dirkschneider.
Nach den schwierigen Pandemiejahren und der Trennung von Bassist Tilen Hudrap schlagen U.D.O. nun, übrigens passend zum Start der neuen Footballsaison, mit einem wahren Touchdown zurück: Hymnisch, brachial und über alle Maße authentisch liefern sie einen musikalischen Meilenstein!
Dabei avanciert das Album für Udo selbst mehr denn je zu einem Heimspiel: Kein geringerer als sein ACCEPT-Weggefährte aus den Anfangstagen, Peter Baltes, übernimmt den Posten als Bassist. Geplant war das keineswegs: „Als Tilen letzten Sommer aus gesundheitlichen Gründen ganz plötzlich ausfiel, haben wir dringend einen Ersatz für die laufende Tour und die bevorstehenden Festivals benötigt. Durch einen riesigen Zufall bot Peter sich an, uns für die paar Shows auszuhelfen“, so Udo Dirkschneider. Bereits nach dem ersten gemeinsamen Abend war klar: Die Chemie zwischen den beiden stimmt nach wie vor. Alte Emotionen, alte Erinnerungen keimen auf. „Es hat sich einfach so unglaublich vertraut und richtig angefühlt“, beschreibt Udo weiter. „Irgendwie hat da wieder zusammengefunden, was zusammengehört.“
Und so kam, was kommen sollte: Peter Baltes hat den kompletten Bass auf »Touchdown« eingespielt. Überhaupt ist das Album das Resultat eines homogen funktionierenden Teams, in dem jeder seinen Beitrag leistet und seinen Stellenwert besitzt. Fairplay hat für Udo nicht nur innerhalb der Band eine große Bedeutung. Trotz der Tatsache, dass er sich seit knapp einem halben Jahrhundert in einer Branche befindet, die allgemein als „Haifischbecken“ gilt und die weiß Gott nicht immer fair mit ihm umgegangen ist, ist er immer er selbst geblieben.
Eine Authentizität und Beharrlichkeit, die sich nun auszahlt. Gemäß dem Motto „Ehrlich währt am längsten“ hat er viele kommen und gehen sehen. Genau deswegen braucht die Musikszene Udo Dirkschneider heute auch mehr denn je - was sich auch in seinem rasant wachsenden Erfolg mit U.D.O. niederschlägt!
Die Band erlebt seit einigen Jahren einen geradezu kometenhaften Aufstieg. Mit dem Einstieg von Udos Sohn Sven Dirkschneider ist sie seit einigen Jahren gewissermaßen ein Familienbetrieb und spätestens seit dem Mitwirken der beiden Gitarristen Andrey Smirnov und Fabian „Dee“ Dammers ein Zwei-Generationen-Unternehmen.
Tausende von Shows haben U.D.O. dabei absolviert, darunter Konzerte auf der Halbinsel Krim,in der Nähe des ukrainischen Tschernobyl, und im bolivianischen La Paz auf über 4.000 Metern Höhe. Es gibt kaum eine Region, in der der gebürtige Wuppertaler mit seiner Band noch nicht auf einer Bühne gestanden hat.
Mit »Touchdown« steuern U.D.O. den nächsten Coup an. Produziert wurde das Album von Martin Pfeiffer (Redhead Studio Wilhemshaven). Stefan Kaufmann (ROXX Studio Solingen) wirkte als Toningenieur am Entstehungsprozess mit.

Udo ist UDO...bleibt Udo...und U.D.O. auch!Ich mag den Kerl einfach.Nicht nur seine Stimme hat dieses "Alleinstellungsmerkmal".Auch seine Art wie er rüberkommt als Typ fand ich schon immer sehr Klasse.Udo wirkt auf mich immer beruhigend...anders kann ich es nicht ausdrücken.Udo wirkt immer sehr Bodenständig und bescheiden und macht keinen auf"Rockstar"!UND wenn ich diese Stimme dann höre-egal,ob Accept-Alben,Dirkschneider oder eben U.D.O.-ich hab seit ewigen Jahren immer dasselbe grinsen im Gesicht.Ich fühl ,ich dann so RICHTIG wohl.Für mich PERSÖNLICH gibt es kein schlechtes Album der eben genannten "Projekte".Die Personalie Udo Dirkschneider ist für mich der Inbegriff des deutschen Metal.Dieses gilt ebenfalls auch international!Gute 50 Jahre ist er "on the Road"!
Aber kommen wir zurück zu DIESEM Album und somit auch zurück zu U.D.O.
U.D.O...DAS ist aber "unseraller Udo" nicht alleine.Da ist auch der Sohnemann Sven.DA muss ich aber auch zugeben,das ich da ganz am Anfang Skeptisch war...Warum?Keine Ahnung!ABER Sven ist als Drummer gewachsen.das merkt man,wenn man die LIVE-Performances sieht.Sven is´ ne Maschine.Klasse.
Und dann ist da noch Peter Baltes-"der Rückkehrer" an Udo´s Seite!Schön,das er wieder dabei ist.Bis 2018 war er ja noch mit und bei ACCEPT unterwegs...
Die anderen Bandmembers ( Andrey Smirnov (guitars) und Fabian Dee Dammers (guitars) verrichten ebenfalls einen Hammerjob und "würzen" dieses Album noch mal zusätzlich mit einer gewohnt tollen Gitarrenarbeit!
Insgesamt verneige ich mich vor Udo,seinen "Mitstreitern",ich verneige mich vor seiner Arbeit,die er musikalisch umgesetzt hat.
Nochmal zum Album...Ich werde hier jetzt nicht jeden einzelnen Song "sezieren"!Warum auch!Das Zeug ist GEIL-und Punkt!Kaufen,hören,FERTIG!

Netter melodic Rock!
Grundsätzlich ein "nur" nettes Album,das so dahin plätschert!Mich aber auch nicht vom Hocker reißt!Was aber nun nicht bedeutet,das es komplett schlecht ist.Da ist zum einen der gute Sound.Da wurde gut gearbeitet im Studio!Und zum anderen sind da die Vocals von Richard Andermyr.Die sind nämlich RICHTIG gut,denn der Kerl kann singen und und macht da einen verdammt guten Job!
Insgesamt empfinde ich das Album als angenehm.ABER ich find es vom Songwritig ausgegangen nicht mutig genug angelegt,um die volle Punktzahl zu vergeben!Oder anders gesagt:Ich vermisse ECHTE HIGHLIGHTS."Nur nett zum hören..."So empfinde ich das ganze Album!

SARAYASIGN is a cinematic melodic hard rock band, headquartered in Örebro, Sweden. With guitar driven roots from the late ’70s and the cinematic experience of the 21st Century, layered with strings and storytelling driven, melody-focused songs with an edge, the listener will be in for a treat.

MEINUNG:
Irgendwie erinnert mich das ganze an WHITESNAKE.Das liegt wohl an der Stimme von Stefan Nykvist,des Stimmfarbe stark an D.Coverdale erinnert!Aber er kopiert nicht!SUPER!
Insgesamt ein Album mit vielen,schönen musikalischen Überraschungen und Highlights!Denn es "knallt an allen Ecken und Enden"!So muss das sein.Es langweilt mich nicht,ich mag die Gitarrenarbeit und das ganze Teil in seiner Gesamtheit!
Ich möchte an dieser Stelle auch mal die Keyboards erwähnen,die so angelegt sind,das eine gewisse Spannung innerhalb der Songs aufgebaut wird.Das mag ich besonders an diesem Album neben den Vocals und dem Gitarrensound!Und nicht vergessen möchte ich das abwechslungsreiche Songwriting!Hinzukommt ein FETTER Sound,den ich manchmal "als etwas drüber" bezeichnen möchte.Aber das hält sich noch in Grenzen!
Das ganze ist gelungen und ich kann es euch wärmstens empfehlen!Also...ran da!
