Alien is a Swedish rock band that has been a cornerstone of the hard rock scene since 1986, known for their melodic hooks, powerful guitar riffs, and the unmistakable voice of Jim Jidhed. Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, the band quickly gained recognition both domestically and internationally, building a legacy of powerful albums and unforgettable live shows.
Alien’s self-titled debut album, released in 1988, introduced their melodic hard rock style to the world establishing Alien as one of the standout bands of the late 80s hard rock scene. "Only One Woman," one of Alien’s most iconic songs which currently has almost 6 million streams on Spotify alone, became a massive hit and achieved gold certification in Sweden and dominated Swedish radio charts. The song also performed well internationally, receiving heavy rotation on radio stations in Europe, the US and Japan pushing the band higher into the global spotlight.
Since then, the band has released several albums, the most recent one, ”Into the future” in 2020, which acclaimed positive reviews for its modern approach to the band’s established style, while still staying true to their melodic rock roots.
2025 marks a comeback with a brand new album coming out. With their new album ”When Yesterday Comes Around” the band takes you back to a glorious time, but with a modern sound.
Alien will also play at Sweden Rock Festival on the 4th of June and will also embark on an South American tour in the fall.

Ein schlichtes Cover...Aber taugt das Songmaterial auch was?
Um das mal vorweg zu nehmehmen:Das Songmaterial ist wie gewohnt (zumindest für meine Ohren) herausragend.Allein schon die tollen Vocals sind 5 oder mehrere komplette Albumdurchläufe gut!Mich wundert das auch garnicht-zumal diese Band aus skandinavien kommt.Und daher kommen Bands,die meißtens qualitativ hochwertges Material abliefern.Und das auch noch in schöner Regelmäßigkeit!
Ab Mitte der 80er Jahre tauchten ALIEN das Erste Mal auf...Das war damals die Zeit,als Bands wie TREAT und Europe aus dem Boden "schossen",wie die berühmten Pilze aus dem Boden.Und die genannten Bands-inklusive ALIEN eben-sind immer noch gut am Start!
Diesen Jungs muss man nicht mehr erzählen,wie gute Musik funktioniert bzw. wie man gute Songs arrangiert etc.Das ganze "Ding" funktioniert und gut.Als Musikfan weiß ich,was ich bekomme.Nämlich GUTE Musik und Qualität!!Und nur das zählt.

You know him well. The ubiquitous guitarist, songwriter and producer SØREN ANDERSEN - or Soren Andersen, as they call him outside DK. If you haven’t heard him live with Electric Guitars or Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple/Black Sabbath), then you might have seen him on YouTube in an episode of Soren’s Sunday Sessions? You can also come across him in the Medley Studio in Copenhagen where he does his daily routine.
Soren Andersen is a world-class guitarist/producer/songwriter, residing in Copenhagen - when he’s not on a world tour. He’s one of the most used rock guitarists in all of Scandinavia. He is – and has been – on some of the biggest stages around the world and in the company of some of the greatest musicians in the industry. Over the past 15 years, Soren has been a regular guitarist for Glenn Hughes and played with Mike Tramp (ex-White Lion), Marco Mendoza & Tommy Aldridge (ex-Whitesnake/ Thin Lizzy), Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Rainbow), Pretty Maids, The Dead Daisies, The Answer, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Eric Martin & Billy Sheehan (MR. Big), Electric Guitars, Jesper Binzer (D:A:D) and Sanne Salomonsen… Add to this a lot of guest appearances with people from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joe Bonamassa, Myles Kennedy and yes, the list could go on. There was praise from a guitar colleague after the release of Glenn Hughes’ “Resonate”, on which Soren of course also plays guitar. Mega star and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani said the following about Soren’s playing on: “This guitarist is somebody I don’t know and who’s also the co-producer, Soren Andersen. And man, he’s so good... Soren is up there with the classic guitar greats, but Soren is totally into the future. His playing is very natural-sounding, and he manages to perform to the songs while still putting in some crazy textures. His choice of notes is interesting... Every time I put the record on, I go: Hey, I didn’t hear that before”- Big words from a true guitar legend…
But now Soren Andersen is album current with his first live record under his own name: “Live In The Homeland”. We’re talking about the follow-up to his critically acclaimed instrumental release from 2019, “Guilty Pleasures”. The album was followed by a longer tour in trio format consisting of the man himself on guitar, Grammy award winner Michael Gersdorff on bass and not least powerhouse drummer Allan Tschicaja from Pretty Maids behind the drums. A little over 100 shows were made and one of them was fortunately immortalized, both in picture and sound. On Friday, May 28, 2021 at 8:00 PM, Soren Andersen and the boys took the stage in his hometown Fredericia, in front of a packed hall in Eksercerhuset. The cameras were rolling and the multitrack system was a blessing on this magical evening - because it was namely the best show of the tour, and it was clear to the trio that it was a release worth it after the first listen. The concert is an entertaining trip into the instrumental guitar universe with forbidden long guitar solos, virtuoso bass performance - and of course the classic drum solo with everything that goes with it. In other words: Everything we LOVE. It’s all delivered with an irrepressible joy of playing and a rare energy that you only hear from top professional musicians.
“I’ve rarely been as proud of something as I am of this album”, Soren says. “I live and breathe live music, and it’s on the slant boards that it really applies to me. That we delivered SUCH a good concert that night in my hometown, puts me in a really good mood. When I listen to the recordings I hear a trio in top form, we were well into the tour, so I can once again see that hard work pays off in the end. Michael and Allan play like it was the last time in their lives - I couldn’t wish for a better rhythm section. It’s a pleasure to play with the boys. Top-shelf musicians”.
“Live In The Homeland” will be released on gatefold double LP (black vinyl limited to 200 copies, transparent white vinyl limited to 300), CD and digital on 14.03.2025. It will be followed by a tour in the Spring - dates below.

"Wer ist das?"...So die Frage an mich selbst!"Ein Gitarrist!"...Aha...
So sehen manche "Selbst-Gespräche aus,wenn ich Material von Künstlern bekomme,die ich denn garnicht kenne...Interessant,oder?Denn so erging es mir auch,als ich das mir nun vorliegende LIVE-Album zugeschickt bekam.Ich hörte also mal rein.Denn das Unbekannte reizt bekanntlich jeden.
Eines vorweg:Gitarrenfrickler werden das hier schon mögen.Da wird "geschreddert auf der Gitarre,das die Saiten glühen!Ich mag sowas sehr.Wenn derjenige auch was "kann" auf und mit seinem Instrument.Und der Herr hier kann schon was und weiß ganz genau,wi man den Hörer/Fan unterhalten muss,um den verdienten Applaus zu bekommen.
SØREN ANDERSEN...Diesen Namen sollte man sich merken.Finde ich zumindest.Das Material...Nunja...der Gute SØREN ANDERSEN spielt sich im verlaufe des Albums in ein wahren "musikalischen Rausch"!Wer z.B. Richie Blackmore, Steve Vai oder Joe Satriani mag,wird an diesem Album seine wahre Freude haben und immer wieder das Teil hören wollen.Zumal auch neben dem angesprochenen "musikalischen Rausch" auch die Spielfreude und die musikalische flexibilität des dänischen Gitarristen sehr gut rüberkommt.Langweile höre ich hier nicht.
Also...ran an dieses Scheibchen,Leute!Ah...fast vergessen:DAS ist eine LIVE-Scheibe.ich rate euch,den Lautstärkeregler voll aufzudrehen;)Lohnt sich!

Eine französische Melodic Rock Band,die bereits 2021 und 2023 zwei Alben und eine EP herausgebracht haben...
Die 80er lassen GRÜßEN!Und somit kann man davon ausgehen,das man viel an eingängigem Material zu hören bekommt!Und genau das ist der Fall!
Man ist schon fast der Meinung,das diese Band-die NICHTS mit der Band Hardline mit Axel Rudi Pell und Sänger Johnny Gioeli zutun hat-den Sound der 80er mit der Muttermilch "aufgesaugt" haben!Und in der Tat erinnert das hier stark an meine geliebten 80er.Was ja GRUNDSÄTZLICH schon mal gut ist!
Der Gesamtsound dieses Albums ist natürlich aufgrund der heutigen Studiotechnik denn schon "etwas" knalliger und knackiger.Das steht schon mal fest.Da hörst du denn gern hin,wenn da z.b die Keyboardparts ihren Anteil an diesem Album abgeben.Die Gitarrensolis...Gut gemacht und interessant!Was ich auch RICHTIG gut finde:ich höre den Bassisten raus,der da so locker flockig seine Arbeit verrichtet.
Die Vocals...hm...Da,und das meine ich noch nicht mal böse,bin ich etwas zwiegespalten.Auf der einen Seite passen die Vocals sehr gut,aber auf der anderen Seite bekomm ich nicht so das Gefühl dafür.ist schwer zu beschreiben.Sagen wir mal so:Die Vocals sind gut,aber klingen so wie ich finde,manchmal etwas "dünn" und in den oberen Vocalsbereichen bricht etwas die Stimme weg/ein!Ich will da dem Sänger echt nix böses...Der Kerl kann was...ohne Frage!
Ich möchte jetzt aber nicht sagen,dass das Album völliger Bullshit ist!Das ist es ganz bestimmt nicht!Es klingt gut und da steckt noch ganz viel Potenzial in der Band,so das ich GUTER Hoffnung bin,das musikalisch noch mehr geht und rauskommen wird.Aufjedenfall...mal antesten!Denn das haben diese Jung definitiv verdient!

Marty And The Bad Punch - Marty And The Bad Punch

Marty Punch, Gitarrist und Songwriter aus München, hat mit seinen ersten zwei in Eigenregie veröffentlichten Alben „Moon Over Baskerville“ (2014) und „Walk A Straight Line“ (2020) in der Rockszene mehr als nur ein Ausrufezeichen gesetzt. Bereits mit dem Debütalbum gewann Marty 2015 den renommierten „Deutschen Rock & Pop Preis“ in vier Kategorien. Der Nachfolger glänzte durch ein großartiges Line-Up mit internationalen Größen wie Bruce Kulick (Kiss, Grand Funk Railroad), Frank Pané (Bonfire), Tommy Denander, JK Northrup, Sarah Straub, Carsten Enghardt, Martin Motnik (Accept), Robert Karasek und David Cagle sowie sehr reifen, klug komponierten Songs. Deshalb war es kein Wunder, dass auch dieses Album national und international sehr erfolgreich war. Zudem wurde die Single „Better Be Strong“, eingesungen von US Sänger Robert Tepper („No Easy Way Out“), zu einem großen Hit auf Spotify.
Jetzt steht mit „Marty And The Bad Punch“ sein drittes Studioalbum in den Startlöchern. Vom schlichten Titel sollte man sich aber keinesfalls täuschen lassen. Denn mit seinem langjährigen Freund Tommy Denander hat er nun den perfekten Partner an seiner Seite, um auf einem ganz anderen Level durchzustarten. Tommy ist nicht nur als Gitarrist zu hören, sondern hat das Album auch gemischt, gemastert, co-produziert und hat darüber hinaus weitere Instrumente eingespielt. Das Songwriting wurde wieder zu 100% von Marty selbst erledigt der das Album auch produziert hat. Marty hat seine Gitarren alle in Schweden bei Tommy im Studio eingespielt. Im August 2023 wurden im legendären Studio von ABBA (RMV Studios) die Streicher für die Ballade und zweite Single „Have Faith“ von den Stockholm Strings (feat. Anna Dagar, Jonna Inge und Hanna Eckström) aufgenommen. Dieser Album Höhepunkt sorgte schon beim Einspielen bei allen Beteiligten für eine Gänsehaut. Tommy spielte dann auf dem legendären Flügel von Abba‘s Benny Anderson die Piano Parts ein, was ebenfalls ein absoluter magischer Moment war. Beides ist auch im Video zu „Have Faith“ zu finden.
Die Bad Punch Familie auf dem neuen Album besticht neben Marty und Tommy mit Sänger Dan Byrne aus Liverpool, der nicht nur wegen seiner Charterfolge als einer der spannendsten und meistgefeierten Sänger in Europa gilt. Dazu gesellt sich mit Basslegende Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder) sowie Ausnahmeschlagzeuger Josh Devine (One Direction/Levara) eine neue Rhythmusfraktion, die auch allerhöchsten Ansprüchen genügt. Musikalisch dürfen sich die Fans der ersten beiden Alben auf die Fortsetzung des eingeschlagenen Weges. Melodische Rockmusik mit leicht amerikanischem Einschlag aber dieses Mal mit mehr Rock und noch mehr Gitarren.

Schöner Classic-Rock...
Classic-Rock mit Melodie, Eingängigkeit und Kraftvollen Songs.Auch der 80er-Jahre-Touch gefällt mir.Aber mittlerweile orientiert man sich ja gern an den 80er-Jahren.Und das finde ich schon ganz gut.Denn-auch wenn ganz bestimmt nicht alles musikalisch gut war in dem Jahrzehnt-das ist ganz bestimmt schon eine GUTE "Adresse",sich dementsprechend zu orientieren!
Und wenn man mal liest (siehe oben Album-Beschreibung),wer da am Start ist,um dieses Album auf die Beine zu stellen...Da weiß man gleich,wo der "Hammer hängt" musikalisch!Also da kann ich als Musikfan schon Qualität erwarten.Und das höre ich dann auch beim abspielen der Songs!Ganz KLAR!
Das hier- und auch die Vorgänger-Alben- sind für mich Alben für die Ewigkeit.Ich kann diese Songs auch noch gut in 20 Jahren hören und es wird immer wieder nur eine Reaktion kommen:"WOW!"Das hören macht einfach SPASS.

Jedes Mal,wenn ein Album erscheint,auf dem ich die Stimme von Jeff Scott Soto höre,bekomm ich ein BREITES GRINDEN in meinem Gesicht...
Allerdings fand ich die letzten Veröffendlichen in den letzten sagen wir mal 5 Jahren nicht so ansprechend...Irgendwie hatte ich so das Gefühl,das da die Luft raus war aus allem,was der Kerl angefasst hat.Sorry für die KLAREN WORTE.Das Material war gut...ABER auch nicht RICHTIG DAS,was ich so kannte...
Nun erscheint wieder ein W.E.T.-Album...Und ich ich muss ehrlich sagen:Ich mag dieses Album,das wieder so "anders" klingt.SO,wie ich z.b.TALISMAN immer mochte!Die Songs haben wieder diese gewissen Dynamik und eingängigkeit,die ich vermisst habe.Ich habe hier endlich wieder das Gefühl,das Material ist so RICHTIG Klasse...und da atmet ein Song!Ich empfinde nicht mehr diese Langeweile-um das mal ganz KLAR zu sagen!
DAS ist ein Album,an dem ich so Richtig SPASS habe und es sehr gern auch mal desöfteren am Tag hören möchte.Die Lines sind wieder tief in meinem Kopf drin,so das ich irgendwas immer wieder auftaucht,wenn ich die Songs nicht höre...Aber ich ich höre das Zeug trotzdem,ohne den Player laufen zu haben!Ihr versteht,was ich meine...!?
Ich mag auch gern Bands wie H.E.A.T oder auch Treat...Aber DAS HIER kann mit dem Stuff der genannten Bands allemal mithalten und streckenweise,find ich vieles hier sogar noch etwas besser!
Außerdem dem hab ich das Gefühl,das Jeff Scott Soto wieder mehr singt...Und gerade das,was er mit seinen Stimmbändern anstellen kann,hat mich persönlich immer sehr angemacht.Hier ist das endlich wieder der Fall!GOD JOB,Guys!

Ich persönlich bin solchen Bands wie WISHBONE ASH unendlich DANKBAR.Warum?Ganz einfach:Sie zählen zu den Vorreitern der HEUTIGEN musikalischen Vielfältigkeit!Viele Musiker haben sich an solchen Bands/Künstler wie die hier genannte orientiert...um ihr Instrument zu lernen...um Songs zu schreiben umd und und...
Das sollte man NIE vergessen!Man sollte nicht einfach sagen:"Ja...aber diese Band ist ja schon so alt.!"NEIN!Man sollte Bands wi WISHBONE ASH weiterhin hören...zuhören...genießen...Da steckt so viel drin!Und wenn man mal bedenkt:Die damalige Techni-im Vergleich zu heute!Wahnsinn!Ich habe vor solchen Künstlern einen RIESEN RESPEKT.Dank dafür!

BLENDED BREW - Roll The Dice

Danish BLENDED BREW releases new old. A decade later, the band release unknown and inedit songs from their debut album, under the title “Roll The Dice”.
Exactly ten years ago, Blended Brew released their debut album “Hand Patrones”, a milestone that marked the band’s entry into the Danish rock scene. Now – a decade later – the collective is returning to their roots and unveiling a collection of songs that never made it to the public. These songs, which were written for the debut album, were then discarded in the process, but they held a special spark that the band could never quite put down.
“We always knew there was something special about these tracks, but back then they just didn’t fit in”, lead singer Jimmy Månsson states about the songs. “Now, with ten years of experience and development, it’s like they’ve finally found their right time and place”.
The forgotten songs have been stored in the band’s own archives and have been waiting for the right moment. Today, finally given new life, they represent both Blended Brew’s beginnings and the journey the band has been on. With this release, fans have the opportunity to hear what almost became part of the debut album and to experience the band’s early sound - now infused with a maturity and depth that they have achieved over the past ten years.

Vocalist Johannes Häger comments on the new album, by saying: “It’s been such a joy for us to record our sophomore album “Night Vision”. One could say that the stakes are higher now compared to the debut “Ignition”, but we felt there are still many untrodden paths for Streetlight, both musically but of course also career wise. We’re still looking back at the AOR heydays, but we’re not going back.”
Streetlight is an AOR/melodic rock band from Jonkoping, Sweden. The band is staying true to the genre, delivering distinctive melodies, punchy choruses and strong hooks, all in the likeness of bands like Journey, Toto and Kansas.
The debut album “Ignition” was released in 2023 by Frontiers Music, digitally and on CD. The music video of their single “Hit The Ground” has got over 140k views on YouTube. Since the release of “Ignition”, Streetlight have gained fans from over the world, and the album reviews have been stellar.
Streetlight is meant to be experienced live, and the band is taking their music on the road, playing both in clubs and on festivals, among others the Swedish AOR festival Malmö Melodic.
The music of Streetlight is melodic and guitar driven, with a sound that reminds you of the
times when AOR was at its peak. And Streetlight wants to mediate music that is fun to listen to, as well as fun to play.
The debut album showed the world that Streetlight is a band to reckon with, and with “Night Vision” they continue with their distinctive melodies and punchy choruses. The sound still has elements of the melodic rock heydays, wrapped in their own 2025 twist.
