Black Paisley - Human Nature

Black Paisley hailing from Stockholm – Sweden is one of the upcomers in the NWOCR (New Wave of Classic Rock) bringing on the heritage from classic acts like Whitesnake,
Scorpions and Thunder combined with modern production and praised new songwriting.

Human Nature is the 4th album by Black Paisley, and part of the album is a once-in-a-lifetime coop with some of Classic Rock's best in class on production, mixing and mastering.
With the aim to re-invent the magic from our idols and the albums/songs that inspired our youth - the band managed to sign and meet up with icon Mike Fraser at Armoury Studios in
Vancouver (mixing - 5 AC/DC albums, The Cult,Aerosmith, Metallica) and Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound in Nashville handled the mastering (AC/DC, Adele, Ozzy & Greta Van Fleet), to help them out with Set Me On Fire and Human Nature.

This was of course a great experience for the band, but also a humbling realization of already having a great team in place back in Stockholm.

The band name BLACK PAISLEY comes from Bon Jovi’s Ritchie Sambora’s classic Fender signature guitar from 1996. With the name you get an embedded connection to the Melodic
Rock with catchy melodies which is the best way to describe Black Paisley’s music.

History of the band
Black Paisley from Stockholm, Sweden has since the start 2015 reached over 10 millions (!) plays on global Streaming Services.
In 2017 the band debuted with the album "Late Bloomer" that had success among critics and bloggers, which was followed by "Perennials" in September of 2018.
In the summer of 2020, Franco Santunione from Electric Boys joined on guitar and the work for the 3rd album begun.
December 2020 the 3rd album “Rambler” were released and praised by critics all over the globe.During 2021 and 2022 the band’s been working on their new upcoming full length album, aswell as touring in Sweden and upcoming summer festivals.

Ganz nett gemachter Rock aus Schweden!Eingängig und auf den Punkt gebracht-ohne lange Umschweife!Der Gesamtsound hat einen sehr druckvollen Sound im Studio erhalten,was mir sehr gut gefällt.Allerdings finde ich manche Stellen doch etwas zu "dumpf" abgemischt!Besonders die klar gesungenen Vocals gefallen mir sehr gut.Aber leider...werd ich nicht so wirklich "warm" mit dem gesamten Album!Sicher-es ist in der Gesamtheit schon gut!Aber.Kann man mal hören.Wirklich überzeugt hat mich das hier nicht wirklich.

Elder - Innate Passage

Innate Passage is the sixth Elder full-length. It finds the mostly-Berlin-based band in the post-pandemic era as veterans at the forefront of a league of progressive and heavy groups working in large part under their influence; a stately presence as reliably forward-thinking as they are unpredictable in sound. They are among the most important acts of their mostly-still-emerging generation. Genuine leaders in style and expressive intention. Innate Passage is further proof why.

In Spring 2020, Elder released their fifth album, Omens, and with it established a claim on their most prog-leaning interpretation of sprawling heavy rock and roll. Two years later, Innate Passage builds on many similar concepts, but outdoes its predecessor on every level of performance, weight of its impact,interplay between founder Nick DiSalvo and Mike Risberg’s guitars and keys, the now-settled-in drumming of Georg Edert – who made his debut on Omens – and bassist Jack Donovan’s tonal warmth underscoring the shimmer of DiSalvo’s leads.

Says DiSalvo: “This record channels the surreal world we live in from a fantastical point of view, not super-literally, and how we as humans processed that; everyone on their own passage through time and space and whatever version of reality they chose for themselves. The phrase ‘Innate Passage’ appeared to me when writing the record. Passage and transition are necessary in the human condition and this process is intrinsic to us. All the growth and introspection we underwent in the past few years totally made this apparent to me more so than any other experiences in life so far.”

“Catastasis” begins Innate Passage with a pointedly bright perspective and the most complex vocal harmonies that Elder have ever produced. Alongside DiSalvo, Innate Passage features a guest singer for the first time in Behrang Alavi (Samavayo), who adds his voice to what’s already a career performance for DiSalvo as a singer; his voice is more confident, has more presence, and more reach than ever before. That is but one way in which Innate Passage steps boldly deeper into this new era for Elder.

Whether it’s a shredding lead in the culmination of “Endless Return” or the willfully patient, almost meandering, build into the crescendo and fade of “Merged in Dreams/Ne Plus Ultra,” Elder are poised as never before as they execute this material. In centerpiece “Coalescence,” they offer Opeth-worthy rhythmic intricacy and piano drama offset by crunching heavy guitar and twisting leads, and in “The Purpose,” they craft a wash of melody that is engrossing without sacrificing any clarity of the individual instruments that make it.

As the album ends with soft guitar in an answer to the intro of “Catastasis,” the sense of wholeness that comes through is one more aspect arguing for Elder as singularly crucial. Innate Passage is a culmination of everything they’ve done before, and that’s reason to celebrate, but more, it is that after more than 15 years, they’re still pushing forward to places where neither they nor anyone they’ve influenced have yet gone. – JJ Koczan, Sept. 2022.





Rockig,progressive Rock...oder was auch immer!DAS hier ist anders-ganz anders.PINK FLOYD "auf schneller"?Hm...irgendwie schon.Also jetzt NICHT im direkten Vergleich gehört.Aber irgendwie erinnert mich das an PF...Abwechslung ist auf jeden Fall gegeben,so das einem während des höhrens nicht langweilig wird.Ich würde sogar sagen,das Album  ist in vielen Teilen psychedelisch.Besonders die Parts,bei den mehrstimmig gesungen wird-ich mag das sehr.Das hier ist ein verdammt starkes Album,dem man mal ruhig eine Chance bzw. mal die Ohren schenken kann!

BAD SISTER - Where will you go

BAD SISTER was founded in 1980 in Hamburg. During the 80's and 90's the AOR and melodic hard rock band played countless shows - for example famous "Onkel Pö" in Hamburg. In 1989 BAD SISTER released their first CD „Heartbreaker“ which was sold all around the world and is estimated among critics as an classic album of AOR. The first single released from this album was „Catriona“. The band supported Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan and Detroit based rock shouter Mitch Ryder.

The second album "Out Of The Business“ was released in 1991 in Europe, USA und Japan. Many shows and open air festivals followed incl. several performances at Wacken Open Air. In 2022 BAD SISTER releases "Where Will You Go" - 13 great AOR and melodic hard rock songs which were produced by Kai-Ove Kessler at Hammaburg Studios, Hamburg and mixed at Wellenschmiede, Hamburg by Timo Höcke. "It's our best album so far", says singer Andrea Löhndorf.

The first single & music video is called "Lose Or Win", a powerful eighties-style hard rock smash hit: pure and straight. "Feels Like Love", a classic AOR track, offers pure energy with driving guitar riffs and great choir singing whilst "Couldn't Do Right" pleases with its earthy guitars, melodic keyboards, harmonic voices and a chorus that stays on your mind. "Fair Enough" is another example for showing the passion of this band: rough guitars, powerful keyboards and a catchy hook. And "Moon Woman" is an emotional ballad with a melodic chorus and supported by a guitar solo that gets under your skin.

Hm...Naja...Ich kann nicht so wirklich mit dem gehörten etwas anfangen.Ja-es ist gut umgesetzt - mehr aber auch nicht.Besonders den Bassisten hört man gut raus...Sorry-aber ich sag es mal ganz klar,wie es für mich klingt:ALTBACKEN.Streckenweise ist die musikalische Umsetzung ANSTRENGEND!Sicherlich-man hat so seine eigene Art.Aber die spricht mich absolut nicht an.

White Skies - Black Tide

White Skies is a UK based AOR band formed by former Samson/First Strike vocalist Mick White, former Ya Ya guitarist Ray Callcut and former Double Cross/Dante Fox keyboard player Pete Lakin.

Just prior to the start of the pandemic in 2020 Mick and Ray (who were old friends from the eighties) had discussed the idea of writing a pure AOR album very much in the style of the giants of the genre Journey, Foreigner and Toto.

As the world entered lockdown the writing process began and it was clear from the first couple of songs that they had a natural songwriting partnership. Ray suggested bringing in his longtime bandmate Pete as the songs were going to need a gifted keyboard player to really take them to the next level and the nucleus of the band was formed.The writing continued over the course of the next year with the tracks being honed down to twelve songs that the three musicians were satisfied were the best of the best they had written and the recording process continued in their
separate home studios while the pandemic continued to grip the world. Finally the mixes were undertaken by Pete to painstaking detail and the album 'Black Tide' was completed in the Spring of 2022.

The band were very quickly offered a deal by German rock label Pride & Joy Music and will be released on the 4th November 2022.

Prior to shooting the video for ‘What Do You Know About Love?’ White Skies added the talents of ex Blood Red Saints bass player Rob Naylor and ex Red White and Blues drummer Daz Lamberton. With the line up now complete White Skies plan to tour the album extensively throughout 2023.

Schön gemachter AOR a´la JOURNEY etc. wie bereits im Info erwähnt!Aber meiner Meinung nach fehlt da noch ne´ Menge,um o.g. Band(s) musikalisch das Wasser reichen zu können.Aber das Potenzial ist da,um das beim nächsten Album besser zu machen.Der Sänger versucht zuviele langgezogene Gesangspassagen,die dem ganzen etwas zu sehr die Stimmung nehmen.Nicht,das der man schlecht ist.Aber es wirkt auf mich manchmal etwas unkoordiniert!Leider gehen die musikalischen Aspekte bzw. die Instrumente für mein Empfinden etwas unter...LEIDER!Der Gesamtsound schwächelt etwas!

STRANGER VISION were born in 2019, aiming to create and realize an extremely personal vision and sound. Catchy music, but not cheesy. Magniloquent, but not tawdry. Technical, but not complex.

Modern, but not pimp. And powerful, above all.The captivating energy of STRANGER VISION comes from the toughness of an exquisitely metal impact and the penetrating power of the melodies. Their style is proficient at generating violent and pleasant sensations, both on artistic and emotional level.

Despite the rich songwriting and accurate arrangements, the creative process of STRANGER VISION is very free and spontaneous. Some sources of inspiration can be found in the limitless storytelling skills of Savatage, the percussive intensity of Symphony X and the fluent harmonic layers of Blind Guardian, but any influence is deeply reworked by the unique personality of the band.

Shortly after the successful debut album Poetica, the sophomore opus Wasteland hits the bullseye once again. A 58-minutes-long musical journey showing STRANGER VISION’s talent for crating memorable riffs, epic vocal melodies, compelling rhythms, uplifting orchestrations, while working out a quite unique conceptual approach for their genre.

Englund (Evergrey, Redemption, Silent Skies) on the song The Deep and the almighty Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards) on the title-track. A pretty consequence of STRANGER VISION’s victory at the Imagination Song Contest hosted by the Bards of Krefeld themselves.

Magnificently mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM) at the renowned Domination Studio in San Marino, the new album Wasteland will undoubtedly pursue the never-ending path of a steadily growing career, which can finally take flight along with the complete restoration of concert-related activities. The artwork was designed by Gustavo Sazes (Angra, Firewind, Cyrah etc.)
Far from being a studio project, STRANGER VISION are more determined than ever to establish their artistic consistency and unleash all the power of Wasteland, definitely a game-changing record in the Italian and international metal scene.

Schön gemachter Powermetal mit progressiven Einflüssen.Grundsätzlich gefällt mir die musikalische "verspieltheit" der Band.Das sollte man beibehalten,denn das gibt dem ganzen dieses gewisse ETWAS und INTENSITÄT der einzelnen Songs!Das KNALLT an allen Ecken und Enden-was auch dem guten Gesamtsound zu verdanken ist!Hinzukommt eine herrausragende Gitarrenarbeit in den Soloparts!Das ganze Thema sollte man auf alle Fäkke einfach mal im Auge behalten.Da geht meiner Ansicht musikalisch noch viel mehr.Also...mal auschecken!

SARCATOR - Alkahest

Sweden's new hope when it comes to thrash metal is spelled Sarcator, and on November 4 the band from Trollhattan will release their highly anticipated sophomore album
"Alkahest" on Black Lion Records.

Being only between 17 and 23 years old, the four young gentlemen of Sarcator started with Metallica covers and after working on their own material, they went to Studio-MT in their hometown to record their s/t debut album, which was released in November 2020 via Redefining Darkness. Just a few months after the release they got nominated to 'Best Swedish Metal Group' for the 2021 edition of the radio listeners award "P3 Guld". Even if they lost out to LIK it was still a major confirmation that the band is on the right path. The music is heavily inspired by Metallica, Slayer as well as the German teutonic thrash metal wave and melodic death metal like The Crown and At The Gates. The Crown influences probably came by birth as the line-up features The Crown’s Marko Tervonen’s son Mateo Tervonen. This is the kind of death thrash that most old school fans live for.

Here and now, a few years later, the band's second album is about to be released,showing a more mature sound as well as a greater influence from bands like Dissection
and Morbid Angel.

"On the new album Alkahest, we kept progressing forward in our approach, with new territories explored. It is a heartfelt album with a broader palette of influences and inspiration."

Im Thrashmetal-Bereich ist diese Band definitiv eine Bereicherung.Das ganze ist ein ROHDIAMAND-finde ich!Das klingt alles noch nicht so perfekt.Besonders im Bereich Drums.Aber in der Gesamtheit sollte man der Band die Zeit geben,die sie braucht,um sich noch weiter zu entwickeln.Guter Wein und so...Ihr versteht?Die Jungs haben dieses gewisse ETWAS,um musikalisch für die Zukunft gerüstet zu sein!Und wenn sie weiter an sich arbeiten,gehen die RICHTIG steil.Eine Band für die Zukunft!

After the huge success of LEGIONS OF THE NIGHT’s debut album in the year 2020 during the pandemic, “Sorrow Is The Cure”, the Germany based Power Metal group now returns with the sophomore release “Hell”!

The group still exists of Jens Faber (Dawn of Destiny, MalefistuM,ExoS), drummer Philipp Bock (Dawn Of Destiny” and sexceptional singer Henning Basse (Metalium, ex- Firewind, Mayan).
“Hell” continues exactly where the previous album has stopped – on this new release the typical Power Metal trademarks like huge melodies, powerful riffs and catchy choruses are present all over the released which is topped by an incredible performance of singer Henning Basse!

“Hell” once again was mixed by mastermind Dennis Köhne (u.a. Orden Ogan, Sodom, Lacuna Coil)!



Das ganze kommt ziemlich symphonisch daher.Der eine mag es-der andere nicht!DAS ganze ist schon sehr vom eigenen musikalischen Geschmackt abhängig!Ich mag es hören-zwischendurch!Ist halt mal was anderes für die Ohren.Aber ob es sich letztendlich durchsetzen kann?Hm...Ok-man weiß ja GRUNDSÄTZLICH NIE wie lange eine Band anm Start ist.Das bedeutet jetzt aber nicht,das die Herrschaften KEINE CHANCE insgesamt haben,um zu "überleben".Teilweise höre ich da auch SAVATAGE...Und das macht mir Hoffnung,das wir von den Herrschaften noch so einiges erwarten dürfen!

OFDRYKKJA - After the storm

It is no secret that the music of OFDRYKKJA has never sounded quite the same. As they strive to keep evolving on a personal level, this is naturally reflected in the band's music as well. While
"Gryningsvisor" was more of a traditional atmospheric/ambient black metal album, "After The Storm" ventures away, off the beaten path, and proceeds to distance itself from some of the more traditional elements that are usually prominent in metal music. Even though "After The Storm" can best be described as a mix between post-rock, acoustic, pop and traditional Swedish folk music, OFDRYKKJA will argue that the spirit of metal and their roots are still prominent and can be heard throughout the album. The somber mood and atmosphere would be the one thing that has remained constant in their music throughout the years, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon, but never without the presence of hope. A beam of light piercing through the darkness.

The album features female vocals by Miranda Samuelsson and guest appearances by Georg Börner (ColdWorld, Sangre de Muerdago) on nyckelharpa (key harp) and viola, and has been mastered by Markus Stock (Empyrium).

I’LL BE DAMNED - Culture

In 2022 I’LL BE DAMNED is at it again. Armed with a constant flow of inspiration from a world gone mad, the Danish band is pissed off about politics, religion, the media and society in general.

The new album, “Culture”, is more well-structured than the prior albums regarding both riffing and overall songwriting. And, with brilliant production value - courtesy of the producer Tue Madsen and his Antfarm Studios - the Nordic fivepiece has finally reached the potential they promised in their previous two albums and explosive live appearances.

With the addition of two new members, Anders Gyldenøhr (ex-Grope, ex-Hatesphere) on drums and Mark Damgaard on vocals, I’ll Be Damned has matured in a musical way that has led to a more serious approach to the writing process. This is showcased with an album - coming after “Road To Disorder” (2018) and “I’ll Be Damned” (2017) - containing less humour, darker and more aggressive riffs followed up by explosive vocals and lyrics that include themes such as anger, desperation and hopelessness rather than sarcasm and irony. Punk Rock is NOT DEAD!Um das mal auf den gleich auf den Punkt zu bringen.Punk Rock der heutigen Zeit klingt einfach nur moderner...auch aufgrund der vorhandenen Studiotechnik und dem ganzen anderen "technikgeschwurbel" drumherum!Die Zeiten,wo Punk bzw. Punk Rock einfach schlecht und einfach so "hingerotzt" klangen,sind schon lange vorbei.Leider...

DAS HIER...ja es ist Punk Rock.Wobei ich behaupten möchte,das da auch etwas Pop mit einfließt!Und das steht dem ganzen auch gut zu Gesicht!In der Gesamtheit gehört ein garnicht so schlechtes Album,welches bei mehrmaligen hören mir aber etwas auf den Geist geht.Liegt vielleicht daran,das ich meine punkigen Zeiten schon lange hinter mir gelassen habe...

Aber mal im Ernst...Es ist ein interessantes Album.Vielleicht mal beim nächsten Album weniger technikgefrickel auf der Gitarre und mehr "Punk-Guitar".Oder anders gesagt:Mehr geradeaus und noch mehr "hingerotzt"...

Enuff Z'Nuff's - Finer Than Sin

Now fronted by bass player and vocalist Chip Z’nuff for their last three studio albums, including The Beatles' covers album "Enuff Z'Nuff's Hardrock Nite", the band are still delivering the band’s patented power pop melded with hard rock tunes. Founding member Chip Z’nuff is once again joined by long-running members Tory Stoffregen (guitars), Tony Fennell (guitars), and Daniel Benjamin Hill (drums). “Finer Than Sin” showcases the musical stylings that have kept the banda loyal fanbase since the ‘80s, staying true to their rock 'n roll roots. "Finer Than Sin'' is the band's 17th studio album overall. Originally formed in 1984 in Chicago, IL, the band received their big break in 1989 when they signed to Atco/Atlantic Records. Founding members, Chip Z'Nuff and Donnie Vie were joined by guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vikki Foxx and they commenced work on their major label debut. The self-titled album was a monster hit and spawned two evergreen singles, “New Thing” and “Fly High Michelle”. Both received constant airplay on radio and heavy rotation on MTV, spending over 60 weeks in the Top 10. 1991 saw the band release their sophomore album, “Strength”. The album had more of a hard rock overtone and sustained the success achieved on the first album. The band made high profile television and radio appearances on the likes of David Letterman and Howard Stern and were featured in Rolling Stone’s Hot Issue as ‘The Next Big Thing'. The band soldiered on during the new musical climates of the ‘90s and '00s and went on to release over a dozen more studio records.

Die gibt´s ja schon EWIG!Naja...und wie immer werde ich mit dem Material der Band nicht so warm!Klar-das klingt alle COOL - macht aber nicht viel mit mir.Irgendwie klingt das alles gleich,wenn ich nen Album von Enuff Z’nuff höre!LEIDER langweilt es mich nach einer gewissen Zeit!

Autograph - Beyond

On January 31, 2022, Frontiers Music Srl made an announcement welcoming the legendary '80s hard rockers Autograph to the label's roster. The band, at the time, featuring vocalist Simon Daniels, guitarist Jimi Bell, bassist Randy Rand, and drummer Marc Wieland, were close to wrapping up work on their brand new studio album "Beyond," which the label had slated for release later in the year. Just past mid-April 2022, Randy delivered the final masters and artwork for "Beyond" and was sorting out plans for the release with the label when he received some news about his health. And then, shockingly, just a few days later, on April 26, 2022, Randy Rand, a founding member of the band, passed away. Before his untimely passing, he shared with his bandmates that if something was to happen to him before the release plans were finalized, he wanted them to release "Beyond", his last recorded work.

And so, with bittersweet emotions, Frontiers Music Srl announces the forthcoming release of Autograph's new studio album, "Beyond", the last album to feature founding member and bassist Randy Rand.

Autograph, whose hit 'Turn Up The Radio' was a staple of the hard rock soundtrack of the '80s, disbanded in 1989, but in 2011, founding members bassist Randy Rand and guitarist Steve Lynch decided to meet up at the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. They rekindled their friendship first before even thinking about a musical reunion. With their personal relationship rebuilt, they made a collective decision to play again. “We approached our original singer Steve Plunkett about a reunion,” recalled Rand. “He didn’t have the time to join the band again due to his busy schedule. He did give us his blessing to move forward though, and that was important. We missed our fans. This is for them.”

Fully embracing the future, the remaining members begin a search for a new singer. They discovered some videos of singer/guitarist/songwriter Simon Daniels (of Jailhouse, Flood, 1RKO) on YouTube and instantly, they sensed a connection and knew that he was the right fit for the band. “He was perfect to front Autograph," smiled Rand. "His hard-edged, bluesy voice and massive riffing sharpen our edge. He’s given us a new energy, and he impressed us immediately. We all had a euphoric feeling after the first rehearsal,” Rand added.

Rand says that during his long-lived career, he has only loved playing with two drummers; one is the great late Randy Castillo, and then there is Autograph's new drummer Marc Wieland. As Rand put it, “We’re heavier than before. At the same time, the melodic vocals and catchy hooks are still an integral part of our sound.”

In 2019, Lynch decided to leave the group to pursue different musical styles and was replaced by international monster shredder guitarist Jimi Bell (House of Lords). The band didn't skip a beat and went on to record a new album, "Beyond", with this line-up before Rand's untimely passing on April 26, 2022.

Autograph, the platinum-selling Southern California hard rock band who gave the world the ubiquitous hit 'Turn Up The Radio', has released seminal albums such as "Sign In Please" [1984], "That’s The Stuff" [1985], and "Loud and Clear" [1987]. Over the course of their career, they have played shows with everybody from Mötley Crüe and Ronnie James Dio to Van Halen and Aerosmith. Successfully touring again since the beginning of 2014, Autograph has strived and shined at arenas, casinos, major music festivals such as M3, Monsters of Rock Cruise, The Moondance Jam, 80’s in the Park, Grand Rock Tember, Cat Club Festival at Irvine Meadows, and Firefest UK, among others. In 2017, Autograph released a new album on ex-Megadeth member David Ellefson's EMP Label Group, hitting # 21 on the Billboard Classic Rock Sales Chart, as well as placing two new singles on the top 10 Hard Rock Mediabase Radio Chart. The band will release their new studio album, "Beyond" via Frontiers Music Srl in 2022. It is the last album to feature founding member and bassist Randy Rand.

QUALITÄT überlebt ALLES.Meine Fresse..die sind seit den 80ern unterwegs und KNALLEN immer noch wie die Hölle!Einzig der Albumsound klingt etwas "seltsam"...Soll das so sein?Hm..Ok...aber das schmälert NICHT meine Begeisterung für diese Band!Bääämm...Links und Rechts gibt´s musikalisch was auf die Fresse!Volume auf ANSCHLAG und ab die Post!So muss das sein!Da kommt man gleich auf den Punkt und webt nicht noch diverse Intro für jeden Song ein.Vom ERSTEN Song bis zum letzten werde ich als Musikfan voll bedient!

THRESHOLD – Gividing Lines

Formed in leafy Surrey in the late ‘80s, Threshold truly blossomed in the following decade, and swiftly established themselves as the UK’s chief progressive metal standard bearers. Meine Begeisterung für diese Band habe ich nie abgelegt.Für mich klangen und klingen THRESHOLD immer noch eine Spur "anders" als andere Prog-Bands.Was jetzt nun heißt,das die "anderen" schlechter sind.Ich denke,jeder muss für sich entscheiden,was ihm musikalisch guttut und zusagt!

Für MICH war das immer so:THRESHOLD klingen FÜR MICH insich "runder" und mehr auf den Punkt.Kein langes rumgefrickel-ihr versteht!?Klar-jede Band hat schlechte Songs oder ein Album rausgebracht-normal!Auch THRESHHOLD!ABER...da ist auch wieder jeder Frei in seiner Entscheidung und seinem Gefühl,welche Musik ausmacht.

Dieses Album ist THRESHOLD-so,wie ich sie mag und kenne!

U.D.O. - The Legacy

Zum Abschluss eines besonderen Jubiläumsjahres (35 Jahre U.D.O. und der 70. Geburtstag von Udo Dirkschneider im April) veröffentlichen die deutschen Heavy Metal-Legenden U.D.O. am 18. November 2022 eine umfangreiche,karriereübergreifende 'Best of'-Compilation mit dem Titel 'The Legacy'.

Bei einem so umfangreichen und hochklassigen Katalog wie dem von U.D.O., fällt die Auswahl für solch eine Zusammenstellung mehr als schwer.
‚The Legacy‘ bei weitem die umfangreichste Retrospektive, die die Band je veröffentlicht hat: Mit 29 Songs, die von allen U.D.O.-Studioalben stammen, plus 4 raren Bonustracks, die viele Fans der Band noch nicht kennen dürften, gibt ‚The Legacy‘ einen Einblick in das beeindruckende Schaffen einer der einflussreichsten, stilprägendsten Bands unserer Zeit. Es beweist, dass U.D.O. während ihrer gesamten Karriere Klassiker produziert haben. Ihre Langlebigkeit und die Qualität ihrer Veröffentlichungen sind in der Heavy Metal-Szene nahezu unerreicht.

Ronnie Atkins - Symphomaniac (EP)

Grundsätzlich mag ich klassische Musik.Und wenn dann ein Sänger,dessen Stimme ich sehr mag und das dann auch noch  mit Rock etc. "vermischt...JAAA...dann bekomme ich so ein gewisses GRINSEN im Gesicht.Natürlich...die Vorrausetzung ist ein guter Mix und wie gut das ganze arrangiert ist!

Ich mag auch EP´s!Zumal ich diese immer als intensiver empfinde,als "normale" Alben.All diese genannten Punkte sind hier gegeben.Über Ronnie Atkins muss man garnicht GROß reden und schon garnicht diskutieren!,Das man kann "ES" und fertig.

GAUPA-Synergy Restored

GAUPA (lynx in Swedish) is a rock band from Falun, Sweden. With surreal lyrics, a highly energetic singer, and a sound of progressive rock with doom/folk/psychedelic influences, they released their debut EP in June 2018 and have since then established an international name on the scene. ‘GAUPA’ – their self-titled debut EP – was well received and the band did one of their first performances on Scandinavia’s biggest rock festival: Sweden Rock, which praised the band in the magazine with the following words: “You can tell they are experienced musicians and the singer Emma Näslund is a force of nature. Ethereal and fairy-like with a voice that seems to draw its power out of the deepest spirits of nature.”

Word spread quickly around the world, even to the Japanese BURRN! magazine: “With arrangements that feel as natural and magical as those of Björk’s and The Cranberries’ together with the mystical and mesmerizing vocals of singer Emma Näslund, this exquisite work of art delivers a superb balance between retro nostalgia and modern elements.”

In April 2020 GAUPA followed up the debut with releasing their first full length album “Feberdröm” gaining even more attention, not only from an international audience but also from the world's biggest metal label: Nuclear Blast Records.

In 2021 GAUPA re-entered the studio to record the second full length album ‘Myriad’ and is currently in the middle of the process of releasing singles and music videos with the aim set on album release by the end of the year. In addition to new releases, GAUPA is currently focusing on the Swedish festival summer of 2022, though with great excitement - after the long wait of the pandemic - to set their feet on new venues around the world.


Sicherlich...die Sängerin klingt schon etwas nach BJÖRK!Aber-und ihr wisst,ich bin ehrlich-nervt mich BJÖRK nicht!Ja...es mag spontan und energiegeladen klingen,was die Dame von GAUPA da von sich gibt!Aber ich mag´s einfach nicht!Es strengt mich an und schmerzen in meinen Ohren brauch ich auch nicht.SORRY für meine klaren Worte!

Musikalisch...hmmm...Es gibt schon so ein paar "nette" Passagen innerhalb des Albums.Aber wenn es heftiger und schneller wird...ja dann empfinde ich es ein Knäuel !Anders kann ich es echt nicht beschreiben!Alles in ALLEM:Ich mag es einfach nicht!

Trotzdem...weil ich den Sound des Mixes,der im Studio "gedreht" wurde,mag,vergebe ich...

I’LL BE DAMNED - Culture

In 2022 I’LL BE DAMNED is at it again. Armed with a constant flow of inspiration from a world gone mad, the Danish band is pissed off about politics, religion, the media and society in general.

The new album, “Culture”, is more well-structured than the prior albums regarding both riffing and overall songwriting. And, with brilliant production value - courtesy of the producer Tue Madsen and his Antfarm Studios - the Nordic fivepiece has finally reached the potential they promised in their previous two albums and explosive live appearances.

With the addition of two new members, Anders Gyldenøhr (ex-Grope, ex-Hatesphere) on drums and Mark Damgaard on vocals, I’ll Be Damned has matured in a musical way that has led to a more serious approach to the writing process. This is showcased with an album - coming after “Road To Disorder” (2018) and “I’ll Be Damned” (2017) - containing less humour, darker and more aggressive riffs followed up by explosive vocals and lyrics that include themes such as anger, desperation and hopelessness rather than sarcasm and irony. However, the thematics of “Culture” still revolve around hatred towards religion and politics, but also newer forms of extreme cultural diversities.

Backed with influences such as Clutch, Down and Rage Against The Machine, I’ll Be Damned fuses a potent yet melodic and groovy punch in your face with lyrical sharpness and unifying paroles – with an attitude.


Mich erinnert das GANZE an die von mir HOCHVEREHRTEN D.A.D!Aber...etwas heftiger als genannte Band.ABER GENAU DAS passt auch zu dieser Band und zur Musik,in der besonders die Gitarrenarbeit im VORGDERGRUND ihr "unwesen" treibt.Wobei mir das MANCHMAL doch etwas zuviel ist!Aber Grundsätzlich...Leute...das knallt schon!Allerdings hab ich denn dann doch etwas zu meckern(geht ja nicht ohne:))...Weniger schreien des Sängers fände ich dann doch besser,denn der Mann kann SINGEN!So muss ich sagen,daß mir das etwas den NERV "tötet"!Leider...Trotzdem mag ich das gehörte!
