ROXXCALIBUR - NWOBHM From The Vaults
Veröffendlichung: 09.05.2025
Ten years after: ROXXCALIBUR are back! Album number four “NWOBHM From The Vaults” delivers even more nugget bits and pieces of an unbroken dedicated journey. A classy follow-up to “Gems Of The NWOBHM”.
This fivepiece represents a hell way more than just being a keen tribute band playing historic tunes and keeping up the spirit of an era alive and kickin’.
ROXXCALIBUR has a clear-cut definition being “a band with external songwriters”. These guys again and again dig out lost NWOBHM pearls, awarding them a fully deserved second chance. A metal on metal win-win package …
Rare items, created by pioneers
2008 the idea putting together a NWOBHM tribute band had been welcomed with wide open arms by many underground voices. The project focused both almost unknown and rare songs that did not make it throughout the pioneering years.
Their debut “NWOBHM For Muthas”, produced by Uwe Lulis (Accept, ex-Grave Digger) and released 2009 via Limb Music, has been appreciated by insiders for its sublimly set up cover versions. Regular metal heads were impressed as well, experiencing the material as something fresh and new.
“Lords Of The NWOBHM”, 2011 produced by knobwhiz legend Chris Tsangarides, did evoke pretty much the same impact. Especially Japanese fans cheered the official album release in the far east.
Impressive live performances
ROXXCALIBUR played Rock Hard festival, Headbangers Open Air, Rocktower und Bang Your Head, let alone three thunderous gigs at the renowned Keep It True festival, supported by various guest musicians, representing Iron Maiden, Samson, Girlschool, and Tygers Of Pan Tang.
ROXXCALIBUR always appeared like a band unit on stage, blending the original spirits with a skilful distinctive personal touch. Their excellent reputation as solid live performers provoked a beautiful side effect: Requests for various projects started rushing in.
Scintillating characters
2009 the band merged with scintillating character Chris Logue to reform US speed metal legend Savage Grace. 2010 they went on without Logue as Masters Of Disguise.
Collaborating with lead singer William McKay, American cult act Griffin found its way back to life, resulting in two more performances at Keep It True.
2011 ROXXCALIBUR skinsman Neudi joyned the likes of US act Manilla Road, and subsequently Trance in 2016. Vocalist Alexx Stahl completed Bonfire’s line-up in 2016, followed by White Spirit, who had been impressed by ROXXCALIBUR’s version of “Midnight Chaser”.
At this stage the band’s activities were set aside for a while, since the other members took their parts in various musical projects as well.
2020 they played with Jameson Raid their first show after a long while, but Covid restrictions cancelled any ambitions of a containing restart.
ROXXCALIBUR inspiring reunions
ROXXCALIBUR’s impact on the scene has been tremendeous from the start. Even obscure NWOBHM bands were rediscovered and susequently re-released by dedicated record companies after realizing the weight of ROXXCALIBUR’s cover versions.
In many cases the ressurections inspired reunions of original line-ups like Quartz, Sparta, Oxym, Jameson Raid, Bleak House and others.
Truly heavy, truly filigree
ROXXCALIBUR’s task for album number four did have a distinctive order: digging even deeper than ever before. This particular mission has been fulfilled in style, consequently celebrated by Rock Hard magazine as “true truffel pigs”.
The majority of numbers goes back to ultra rare 7” discs or regional compilation records. It seems both tragic and amazing, how many musical pearls never really got the attention or even appreciation they deserved. One example, representing the lot: “Cecil B. Divine” by Blazer Blazer, originally produced by Tom Allom (Judas Priest) never made it anywhere back in 1979, receiving a second chance in 2025. 15 Tracks have been recorded, representing a wide dynamic range. Truly heavy stuff like Denigh’s “Lean On 'Em Hard” meets truly filigree moments like Liaison’s “Only Heaven Knows”.
Classical design
“NWOBHM From The Vaults” sounds as natural as a recording session being cut in the womb of a living room. Conducted by guitarist Kalli Goldsmith as producer, the songs do sound authentically organic, thankfully lacking modern elements or any artificial “retro” atmosphere.
Icing on the cake is one more stunning cover artwork by Rodney Matthews. The renowned artist not only illustrated many records of rock icons during the seventies but also coined the sleeves of NWOBHM household names with Diamond Head, Praying Mantis and Tygers Of Pan Tang among them.
“NWOBHM From The Vaults” contains a lush booklet with liner notes illuminating the heritage of every single song.

14 Songs inkl.Intro...NWoBHM...50 Minuten...
Also schon mal ein Pluspunkt!

KICKIN VALENTINA - Raw Trax, B-Sides, and Bootlegs
Veröffendlichung: 02.05.2025
Bored with the rock music landscape of the time - dominated by overproduced fluff or bro-rock bands - KICKIN VALENTINA set out to play rock‘n’roll the way they wanted to hear it: loud, unapologetic, and 100% live, with no backing tracks and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.
Fast forward to May 2025, and the band is set to release their fifth album, “Raw Trax, B-Sides, and Bootlegs” worldwide via Mighty Music/Target Group. Once again produced by Andy Reilly (UFO, Bruce Dickinson, Cradle of Filth) at Muse Productions in Atlanta and mastered by Joel Wanasek, the album is a collection of unreleased songs, demos, and live recordings from the Bang Your Head Festival in Germany.
“We had a few songs left over from the “Star Spangled Fist Fight” recording sessions and knew we wanted to eventually release them,” says bassist Chris Taylor. “We thought it would be fun to package them together with a couple of live tracks and some demos of older songs. I always enjoy when bands release live recordings or demos, where you get to hear the raw, unfiltered versions - what the songs sounded like in the demo stage with alternate lyrics, guitars, etc. I hope our fans will enjoy this as well”, he concludes.
Kickin Valentina formed in 2013 and quickly gained attention in the US and abroad. They released their debut EP the same year and later signed with Danish label Mighty Music, going on to release four successful albums: “Super Atomic”, “Imaginary Creatures”, “Revenge of Rock”, “Star Spangled Fist Fight”, and the EP “Chaos in Copenhagen”. Their album “Imaginary Creatures” charted on Billboard, while “Revenge of Rock” reached #6 on the Danish vinyl chart.
The band has toured extensively across America and Europe, opening for acts like Buckcherry, Queensrÿche, Skid Row, and Sebastian Bach, while also playing major festivals such as Bang Your Head, Call of the Wild, Nordic Noise, Monsters of Rock Cruise, and Rock Fest. Their music has been featured in prominent European and Japanese publications, including Burrn!, Classic Rock, and Metal Hammer. Kickin Valentina won the GA Music Awards for Rock Band of the Year (2014) and Video of the Year (2015) for their single “Wrong Way”.
“Raw Trax, B-Sides, and Bootlegs” will be released on gatefold LP (red vinyl limited to 300 copies), CD and digital on 02.05.2025, via Mighty Music. It will be followed by a tour in the Spring - dates below.

STATEMENT - Sinister Thing
Veröffendlichung: 09.05.2025
With their fifth studio album, “Sinister Thing”, to be released via Mighty Music in May, Danish hard rock/metal band STATEMENT embarks on a darker and heavier musical journey while staying true to their signature melodic sound. This album represents a significant evolution for the band, striking a balance between their established identity and a newfound intensity that elevates their music to new heights.
Creating “Sinister Thing” was one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences for Statement. Determined to craft an album that felt distinct from their previous four releases, the band revisited their entire discography - not for inspiration, but to reflect on their musical growth and evolution. This introspection helped them refine their direction, ensuring the album maintained the essence of Statement while incorporating fresh, powerful elements.
Musically, the album started in drop D tuning before transitioning to drop C, allowing for a darker and heavier sonic landscape. To fully immerse themselves in the creative process, Statement took a week-long retreat, dedicating themselves entirely to songwriting. This intensive period resulted in tracks like “The Hive”, “Raised in Hell”, “The Right Kind of Love”, and “My Last Goodbye”. The experience not only strengthened their artistic vision but also reinforced their bond as a band.
Lyrically, “Sinister Thing” is deeply personal, drawing inspiration from real-life experiences, opinions, and stories shared by friends and family. Each track underwent multiple rewrites to ensure the perfect balance of emotion, melody, and heaviness, leading to some difficult but necessary creative decisions.
To achieve the album’s bold new sound, Statement collaborated with renowned producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio. Having previously worked with Madsen on their first two albums, the band knew he was the ideal choice to bring their heavier vision to life. His expertise helped shape “Sinister Thing” into a record that maintains Statement’s melodic foundations while embracing a more intense metal influence.
With “Sinister Thing”, the Danish collective pushes their musical boundaries, offering fans an album that is both familiar and refreshingly bold. The combination of powerful riffs, emotionally charged lyrics, and a darker, heavier atmosphere ensures that this release will captivate listeners and solidify Statement’s position in the hard rock and metal scene.
“Sinister Thing” will be released on LP (black vinyl limited to 200 copies and transparent red vinyl limited to 100 copies), CD and digital on 09.05.2025, via Mighty Music.

SKUNK ANANSIE - The Painful Truth
Veröffendlichung: 23.05.2025
The Painful Truth is a truly mesmerising, provocative, powerful and emotional album demonstrating a band at the absolute peak of their powers, yet with everything to prove.
“I don’t care that we were big in the Nineties,” states vocalist Skin. “Creatively it’s irrelevant because in my rock bible the first commandment states, “If thy rest on them laurels thy shall wither up and die artistically, musically, mentally. And then financially.’”
And for Skin the past counts for nothing. Even when you’ve been a band for 30 years and history seems on your side. The Painful Truth is the sound of Skunk Anansie facing up to who they are and what they want to become. It is more than an album title. It is a reality that they have lived through.
A combination of parenthood, illness, and the departure of their longstanding manager seemed to conspire against them and add to their uncertainty, forcing singer Skin, guitarist Ace, bass player Cass and drummer Mark to question their place in the world as a band, as well as their own personal ambitions. For a while, they came close to calling it a day.
Unsure of what to do, and failing to write on zoom, the four-piece retreated post-Covid to a farmhouse in Devon where amid frank conversations and home-cooked dinners, they slowly began collating their feelings into songs.
“When we write it’s just the four of us in a room with no outside distractions or interference, getting to know each other again. We’d done the Greatest Hits tour and we realised that things needed to change. If we didn’t do something fresh and forward thinking, we couldn’t really be a band anymore. We’d just be doing Skunk karaoke,” says Skin bluntly.
And The Painful Truth is anything but Skunk karaoke. Produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio fame it’s a fresh, frank, uplifting and textured album, with the band’s knack for writing big pop songs remaining defiantly undiminished. If anything, their hooks this time around are sharper and sink in quicker.
First single ‘An Artist Is An Artist’ is proof of that; a witty, provocative, pulsating slice of spiky, new-wave brilliance it has been greeted with a rapturous reception from fans and media alike. And brand new single ‘Cheers’, which rides along on a deeply infectious, pulsating rhythm and boasts a truly euphoric chorus, demonstrates once more the sheer quality and ambition of the new album.
The Painful Truth is a radical record made for these uncertain times. Their first release on the newly formed FLG Records, and with new management in place, it also comes with a freshness that belies their storied career and previous multi-platinum achievements. It’s a record that will see Skunk Anansie reclaim their place as one of the most exciting, visionary and important bands in British music.
“When I really think about it, yes, we have made some good records in our time but it’s been a long time since we have made a great album. And that is the painful truth,” confesses Skin. “Understanding that, led us to making what I genuinely think is our greatest record yet.”
THE PAINFUL TRUTH tracklisting:
1. An Artist Is An Artist
2. This Is Not Your Life
3. Shame
4. Lost And Found
5. Cheers
6. Shoulda Been You
7. Animal
8. Fell In Love With A Girl
9. My Greatest Moment
10. Meltdown
FURTHER INFORMATION ON SKUNK ANANSIE
Skunk Anansie, formed in 1994 in London, are a seminal band; one of the first multi-racial British rock bands, who are known for their powerful sound and thought-provoking lyrics. Fronted by the charismatic and dynamic vocalist Skin, the band blends alternative rock with elements of punk and metal. They remain one of the most important and influential bands of their era.
Their debut album Paranoid & Sunburnt (1995) and its follow up Stoosh (1996) both hit the Top 10 album chart in the UK, and with hits like ‘Weak’ and ‘Hedonism’, they established themselves on the international stage, helped by their stunning live performances. In 1999, Skunk Anansie closed the decade off in style by releasing their third studio album, Post Orgasmic Chill and headlining Glastonbury Festival, before surprisingly going on a lengthy hiatus in 2001.
The band reconvened in 2008 to embark on the second chapter of their career, releasing three acclaimed albums - 2010’s Wonderlustre, 2012’s Black Traffic and 2016’s Anarchytecture. In 2019, the band marked their 25th anniversary with 25LIVE@25, a live album that brings together the greatest songs from their six studio albums.
Throughout their career, Skunk Anansie have sold over five million records around the world. The band’s international prominence continues to thrive today, selling out live arenas and headlining festivals across the continent.
Skunk Anansie are celebrated for addressing political and social issues through their music, breaking racial and gender barriers in rock. Their influence extends beyond music, contributing to discussions on identity, equality, and activism.
MEINUNG:

From the album opener, “Move On,” a song from 1974, to “I Like the Things You Do,” written in 2023, The Vault offers a comprehensive look at Felder’s rich musical history. The album’s title reflects this expansive journey through time, blending timeless rock anthems with heartfelt ballads in a way that only Felder can.
What sets The Vault apart is the incredible roster of musical giants that have come together to lend their talents to the project. Felder is joined by true rock royalties including David Paich, Steve Lukather, Joseph "Joe" Williams, and Greg Phillinganes of Toto, renowned drummers such as Greg Bissonette, Brian Tichy, Todd Sucherman, plus Timothy Drury, Nathan East, Nina Winter and Lenny Castro, among others.
Their contributions bring a fresh, dynamic energy to the music, enhancing Felder’s signature sound and bringing new life to these songs. In addition to the previously unreleased material, The Vault also includes a newly re-recorded version of “Heavy Metal”, Felder’s classic hit from his 1983 debut album “Airborne” and the soundtrack of the 1981 animated film of the same name.
With its perfect blend of high-energy rockers and introspective, emotional ballads, “The Vault (Fifty Years of Music)” showcases Don Felder’s enduring legacy as one of rock’s most influential and skilled guitarists.

Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, Felder developed an early passion for music after watching Elvis Presley perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. By the age of 13, he had formed his first band, the Continentals, which included future rock legend Stephen Stills. Felder refined his guitar skills through dedicated practice and even received slide guitar lessons from Duane Allman, laying the foundation for his signature style.
In 1974, Felder joined the Eagles, helping shift their sound from country-rock to a more guitar-driven rock style. He co-wrote and performed the legendary guitar solo for “Hotel California”, one of the most celebrated songs in rock history. His contributions extended to other notable tracks, including “Victim Of Love” and “Those Shoes”.
His dual guitar harmonies with Joe Walsh became a defining element of the band's sound. In recognition of the Eagles' massive influence on rock music, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, with Felder performing alongside his former bandmates at the induction ceremony.
Following his departure from the Eagles in 2001, Felder pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as “Road to Forever” (2012), and “American Rock 'n' Roll” (2019). Ronnie Romero - Live At Rock Imperium Festival
Veröffendlichung: 23.05.2025
Legendary singer Ronnie Romero is thrilled to announce the release of his new album, “Live At Rock Imperium Festival”, set for release on May 23rd, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl.
“Live At Rock Imperium Festival” sees Romero delivering an impressive musical performance in front of a huge passionate audience, in one of the biggest European festivals, the Spanish Rock Imperium Festival, including songs from the first solo and some other highlights like the Dio cover “Rainbow In The Dark”.
Pre-Order “Live At Rock Imperium Festival” HERE
Talking about the album, Romero said: “I really wanted to have a live album out, to show everybody how much I enjoy playing music and the capabilities of the musicians I have by my side! It is also a step forward in my solo career. And no better place than my beloved Rock Imperium Festival in Spain! Thanks a lot to Frontiers Music, Manu Giménez, Andy C, and my band for making this possible! I hope that everyone will enjoy this performance!”
The tracklist is mostly based on Ronnie’s latest solo album “Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters”, which marks the first time that Romero has been involved with 100% of the songwriting on an album he sings on.
Romero also co-produced the album with Andy C., marking another first for Romero. While these 'firsts” certainly add to the excitement for the album, it is the songs that truly take center stage. Romero's voice is completely at home on this diverse, hard rockin' set which is certainly going to please any fan of his vocal style and his work with his other bands.
Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, Sunstorm, and the recently launched Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. With an impressive discography already under his belt, “Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters” is arguably the crown jewel of Romero's recorded output thus far.
“Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters” follows Romero's first two solo albums, both covers albums. 2023's “Raised On Heavy Radio” saw Romero paying tribute to legendary artists from the metal world like Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Metallica, and more. It also featured special guests like Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Spirits of Fire), Roland Grapow (Masterplan, Helloween), and more.
Romero's first solo album, “Raised On Radio”, featured covers of classics that meant something special to Romero over the years and helped forge this talented singer's musical style. Songs by legendary acts like Survivor, Bad Company, Foreigner, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and more were given Romero's talented vocal treatment.
“Live At Rock Imperium Festival” Tracklist:
1. Castaway On The Moon
2. I’ve Been Losing You
3. Chased By Shadows
4. Ferryman

Hinzukommen/kamen 3 Covernummern ("Rainbow in the Dark" von Dio,"The Ferrymen" bzw."The Last Ship" der gleichnamigen Band The Ferrymen).Musikalisch knallt die Band.Das muss man mal sagen - von Ronnie Romero´s Stimme abgesehen.
Das Scheibchen kann man sich getrost in den Schrank stellen.Damit macht man nichts verkehrt.
