Nette Riffs,die oder andere gut klingende Melodie.Hymnen,die im Ansatz zum Mitsingen einladen.So kann man grob dieses Album bzw. die Songs der Brasilianischen Band Nite Stinger,die hier ihr ZWEITES Album präsentieren.Man hört schon raus welche Bands da ihre Anleihen hatten.Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Def Leppard und Poison hinterlassen hier und dort ihre musikalischen Spuren.
Insgesamt gibt es 11 Songs zu hören,die gut klingen.ABER…ich muss ganz ehrlich sage,nun nicht unbedingt den Hörer vom Hocker reißen-aber gut arrangiert wurden.Das Material klingt gut,ist gut produziert worden und besonders der Sänger singt und versucht nicht irgendwas mit seiner Stimme anzustellen.Und ich finde,das die Vocals schon das Album ausmachen.Der Rest?Nunja…es klingt gut-mehr aber auch nicht.Wobei allesdings die Gitarrenarbeit auch noch mal an dieser Stelle lobend erwähnt werden sollte.Denn auch die ist interessant und da kann man auch mal das ein oder andere Ohr riskieren!
Es ist schon Ok,was ich da höre.Solide klingt das ganze ja…Aber das war´s dann auch schon für meine Ohren.

AUTUMN’S CHILD – Melody Lane

Mikael Erlandsson needs no further introduction when it comes to melodic rock.
He has released seven successful solo albums and a lot of titles with groups like Phenomena and Salute among others. Between 2006-2018 Erlandsson fronted the Swedish super group Secret Service which he toured with live all over the world.
Together with the fantastic guitar player Andy Malecek from the successful German hard rock band Fair Warning he founded the band LAST AUTUMNS DREAM in 2003 which also featured Ian Haugland, Mic Michaeli and John Leven of Europe fame at the time.
Last Autumn’s Dream went on releasing another 14 albums with different line ups including great musicians like Jamie Borger (Treat) and Marcel Jacob (Talisman). They toured Japan, England and Germany but decided to take a break in 2018.
Shortly after, Erlandsson founded the group AUTUMN’S CHILD who have released five extremely successful albums so far (“Autumn’s Child” – 2019, “Angel’s Gate” – 2020, “Zenith” – 2022, “Starflower” – 2023 and “Tellus Timeline” 2024).
January 2025 sees Autumn’s Child returning with their sixth album “Melody Lane”, their fourth release via Pride & Joy Music. The group features Mikael Erlandsson on vocals, keyboards & guitars, Pontus Åkesson on lead guitar, Rickard Johnsson on drums, Claes Andreasson on keys and Magnus Rosén on bass. Additional vocals by Johanna Hjort on “Lovesong”.

Als Frontmann z.b. bei SECRET SERVICE und LAST AUTUMNS DREAM ist Mikael Erlandsson irgendwo immer „unterwegs“…Und nun auch bei AUTUMN’S CHILD!Der Mann ist sehr aktiv!
Und auch gleich auf den gewissen Punkt zu kommen,was mein Gesamtgefühl zu diesem Album angeht…Für mich ist das ein „Wohlfühl-Album“!Warum?Ganz einfach:Es ist die Stimme von Mikael Erlandsson…Der Sound des Albums…Es sind die Arrangements…Ich hab einfach ein GUTES gefühl mit dem Album und den Songs!
Manchmal würde ich mir schon wünschen,das Mikael Erlandsson den „Hammer“ innerhalb seiner Vocals auspackt und mal stimmlich noch mehr draufpackt,als er ohnehin schon drauf hat.Will sagen:noch mal ein paar mehr Höhere Gesangsparts innerhalb eines Songs!Nein!Nein!Es liegt mir fernn,zu sagen,der Mann ist schlecht!Im Gegenteil.Ich hab immer das Gefühl,wenn ich seine Stimme höre,das es da noch HÖHER gehen KÖNNTE könnte!Aber vielleicht ist das auch „nur“ MEIN Wunschdenken…
Zum Album:JEDES Album besitzt eine gewissen Charakter.Auch das vorliegende!Aber solche Alben darüberhinaus gibt es nur noch sehr wenige!DIESES Album hat noch mal die Prise „MEHR“!Aber KLAR ist:KEIN Album ist Perfekt!Es gibt NICHT „DAS“ Super-Album“!Es gibt „nur“ DAS,was du als Hörer und/oder Fan empfindest!Das Album hier hat eine gewisse andere Ausstrahlung!Einen gewissen Charme!Ich habe an den Songs schon eine Menge Spass!
Ich kann euch dieses Teil hier wärmstens empfehlen!

For CORONATUS water becomes a symbol of all that is deep, unseen, dangerous, and awe-inspiring. While the previous album “Atmosphere” focused on threats in the “airy” realm, “Dreadful Waters” shifts the narrative toward oceans and seas: environments rich in myth, peril, and emotional metaphor.
Musically, the band once again offer an expansive spectrum of styles: symphonic metal as the foundation, enriched by folk elements, dramatic orchestrations, and experimental touches that have become a trademark of the CORONATUS sound.
The songwriting comes not only from drummer and founder Mats Kurth, but also from vocalist Nemesis and guitarist Harry Zeidler, widening the creative scope of the album.
“Dreadful Waters” was produced by Markus Stock and Mats Kurth at Klangschmiede Studio E, where Stock also handled mixing and mastering. His signature depth and clarity amplify the album’s dark maritime atmosphere.
The cover artwork, created by Michael Krebes, visually captures the album’s descent into the unknown, merging mysticism, danger, and the elemental force of water.

Das 17. Album…UND es soll das letzte Album der Band sein…
Die ganzen Jahre war ich immer Zwiegespalten…Persönlich fand ich die Alben nicht immer Klasse…ABER…irgendwie schon…Musikalisch war das Material für meine Ohren immer irgendwie besser geeignet und netter anzuhören,als bei manch anderer Band…Und um mal KLAR zu sagen:Dave ist und war nie der Hammersänger.Das meine ich nicht beleidigend oder so.Im Gegenteil.Die Gitarrenarbeit,Songideen und das,was die anderen Musiker einbrachten – egal,wie sie nun auch hießen/heißen – war und ist immer sehr solide gewesen!
Ich wusste immer:DAS ist/sind MEGADETH – alles ist gut.Und irgendwie,und das hört sich nun ganz „seltsam“ an:Dave´s Stimme hatte immer etwas,was mich beruhigte-kein Witz!Ich habe auch immer an METALLICA gedacht…Warum auch immer!Keine Ahnung!Der ERSTE Gedanke war:Warum kann ein METALLICA-Album nicht mal so klingen?Übrigens war ich nach dem 3. Metallica-Album „raus“,METALLICA wirklich gut und interessant zu finden!Metallica habe ich irgendwann nur so wahrgenommen…es gab/gibt sie halt…Ende und AUS die Maus!
Klar…Ich könnte jetzt mehr auf dieses LETZTE(?) Megadeth-Album eingehen.Will ich aber nicht wirklich…
Um nochmal auf den MEGADETH-Sound ansich einzugehen…Da war der meißtens GEILE Mix,der im Studio „gedreht“ wurde…Und dann die Stimme von Dave…Diese Kombination passte schon immer gut zusammen.UND es war gefühlt immer eine GUTE Kombination aus allem,was verdammt gute Alben ausmacht-auch,wenn diese Alben von MEGADETH nicht immer perfekt waren…Für den Hörer und oder Konsumenten!ABER mal ganz ehrlich…WELCHES Album ist schon in seiner Gesamtheit Perfekt?Jeder entscheidet doch unter dem Strich selbst,was gut oder schlecht ist!
Da soll es nun NIE WIEDER ein Album geben von MEGADETH?Hm…Ich kann mich mit diesem Gedanken nicht oder noch nicht anfreunden und schon garnicht abfinden.Eine für mich GROßE Band will abtreten?
Wie dem auch immer sei…DANKE an Dave und ALLE,die die ganzen Jahre für MEGADETH gewirkt und gemacht und getan haben…Mehr gibt es nun von mir nicht mehr zu sagen!Vielleicht erleben wir nochmal eine Überraschung…Ich würde es mir WÜNSCHEN!

In 1974, Phaedra redefined the landscape of electronic music. What began as an experimental session at Richard Branson’s Manor Studios in Oxfordshire became a seismic event in modern sound. Using the Moog sequencer for the first time, Tangerine Dream – then comprised of Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann – crafted Phaedra, an album that shimmered with innovation, mystery and a palpable sense of discovery.
Half a century later, Tangerine Dream returned to London’s Barbican to honour that landmark work – reimagining it for a new era. Across its three vinyl LPs, 50 Years of Phaedra: At the Barbican captures this transcendent live performance, in which the current line-up – Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane, and Paul Frick – revisit the spirit of Phaedra with the very tools that Froese and his collaborators helped pioneer.
Part of Phaedra’s magic lay in its imperfections: the original sequences were never truly quantised, their timing drifting unpredictably through the Moog’s analogue circuitry. That subtle instability became part of its charm – a human pulse within the machine – yet it long left current bandleader Thorsten Quaeschning intrigued by what a fully realised version might reveal. Now, fifty years later, Tangerine Dream have revisited the work with the precision that technology once denied them. 50 Years of Phaedra: At the Barbican is the first time Phaedra has been performed fully quantised, each motif beautifully aligned with a crystalline precision previously unheard.
For over five decades, Tangerine Dream have stood as pioneers of electronic sound, shaping the evolution of ambient, film, and synthesiser music. Founded in Berlin in 1967 by Edgar Froese, the group became synonymous with the “Berlin School” of electronic composition, influencing generations of artists from Jean-Michel Jarre and Depeche Mode to Radiohead and M83. Their vast catalogue spans over a hundred albums, including acclaimed film scores for Sorcerer, Risky Business, and Firestarter, and countless live performances that redefined what electronic music could be on stage. Universally recognised for their visionary approach to texture, atmosphere and technology, Tangerine Dream remain one of the most innovative and iconic forces in modern music.

Greywind – Severed Heart City

Irish emo duo Greywind have released their new album ‘Severed Heart City’ via FLG. Having heralded the start of a new era in 2025 with epic emo cuts, ‘Acid Rain’, ‘I.K.A.M.F.’, and ‘Waterfall’, they now share the focus track ‘Cope In The Coma’, along with an official lyric video.
Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan comments: “‘Cope In The Coma’ is Greywind’s way of saying that it’s ok to be sad, but never give up. It’s ok to need time alone. It’s ok to feel lost. But those are the times you go to Severed Heart City and learn how to cope.”
“We wanted to end the album with a hopeful song and this song also references every other track on the album so it’s the perfect closer to Severed Heart City”, adds Steph O’Sullivan.
The moody world of ‚Severed Heart City‘ incorporates singles like ‚Swerve‚, which travelled substantially on social media and received recognition from the likes of BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock and Rock Sound, as have several other anthemic cuts from the record. Greywind have seen multiple ‚Severed Heart City‘ tracks appearing on the Kerrang! Chart, as well as receiving spins on Kerrang! Radio, with ‚Acid Rain‘ making the K! Nights playlist.
Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for Greywind, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. They’ve gone on to stoke their own creative fire and avid fanbase with a Tik Tok surge during lockdown, an EP released by Version III in 2024 (‘Antidote’), tours and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and North America, and now a partnership with FLG. ‘Severed Heart City’ is both the culmination of and the soundtrack to that journey, taking in all the twists and turns in the siblings’ story, both personally and professionally, along the way.
“Severed Heart City is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution,” say Steph and Paul. “There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. Severed Heart City is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”
Produced, engineered and mixed by Sam Guaiana (Neck Deep, Silverstein, Holding Absence), ‘Severed Heart City’ wears Greywind’s classic emo influences firmly on its metaphorical sleeve. It’s no surprise to hear that they’re inspired by emo pop originators like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, with the duo’s flair for the dramatic and knack for an earworm melody resulting in an album filled to the rafters with anthems. Ja…es klingt anders…ABER irgendwie finde ich diese Band schon interessant.Punkig…Pop dazu und FERTIG!Hinzu dann eine Stimme,an die man sich gewöhnen muss.Denn beim Ersten hören meinte ich,da will mich einer veräppeln…Da „quietscht“ eine Ente?Aber wenn man sich mal reingehört hat,macht das ganze schon irgendwie SPASS!IRGENDWIE…
Tja…DAS nennt man EMO…Trotzdem muss ich aber sagen:NICHT meine Welt!Musikalisch klingt das FETT…Da wird gute Laune versprüht.Ok…es ist jetzt nicht so,dass ich das gehörte absolut schlecht finde und GUTE Laune verabscheue.Es macht,wie erwähnt,schon irgendwie SPASS!Die Vocals stehen über allem-ohne Frage!Aber wenn ich die Stimme „ausblende“…Da gibt es die ein oder andere nette Idee.GRUNDSÄTZLICH eine Abwechslung für meine Ohren,mit der ich mich nicht so wirklich „anfreunden“ kann.Es ist alles „NETT“ umgesetzt worden.Und DAS war es dann auch schon.“Kenn ich eine Nummer…Kenne ich auch die anderen Nummern!“SO kann man kurz und knapp das Scheibchen beschreiben.
ABER…mal was anderes!
