Das ist so ein Album...da muss man sich meiner Meinung erst mal "reinhören".
Als ich die Vocals das Erste mal hörte,dachte ich:"Alternative Music!" ABER...das liegt an der Stimmfarbe der Vocals.Und da bin ich auch gleich beim Thema.DENN...die Vocals sind echt gut.DENN...der Sänger SINGT und gröhlt nicht durch die Gegend und/oder macht irgendwelche akrobatischen Dinge mit seinen Stimmbändern.DAS finde ich dann schon mal sehr gut.
Musikalische-also wenn ich mir mal die Vocals wegdenke-nunja...das ist auch nicht schlecht.ABER auch leider nicht so,als das es mich voll überzeugt.Manche Titel(also ohne Vocals "gedacht") "plätschern so dahin.Die Arrangements sind gut und auch die Ideen sind da.Aber der RICHTIGE Knaller fehlt (NOCH).Da ist musikalisch noch jede Menge Luft nach oben.
Der Grundstein ist allerdings gemacht für weiteres Material,welches,dann noch besser sein wird.Davon bin ich überzeugt.Denn da stecke eine Menge Potenzial in der Band.
Viele Songs Songs machen echt gute Laune.Heißt für mich:AIRPLAY(also Radioausstrahlungen) ist durchaus möglich.Zumal,wie bereits erwähnt,die Stimme "DAS GEWISSE ETWAS" hat und einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert mit sich bringt!Also checken würde ich diese Band aufjedenfall!

Die 80er lassen sich auch hier nicht verleugnen!Was ich ja GRUNDSÄTZLICH GEIL finde...
...allerdings gehen mir gleich mal die Vocals,die GRUNDSÄTZLICH gut sind,auf den Keks.Warum?Ich mag Stimmen nicht,die permanent oder ganz oft innerhalb eines Album in HÖHEN rumkrähen,die mir in den Ohren wehtun.Daran werde ich mich NIE gewöhnen.Obwohl die hier gehörten Vocals noch so eben an der Grenze des hörbaren "kratzen"!
Musikalisch find ich das schon sehr Klasse.Das macht mir Spass.Die Drums klingen mir allerdings ganz oft zuviel nach BUMM CHAK,BUMM CHACK...Hmmm...Wer´s mag...in Anlehnung an die 80er...!?
Ich will jetzt nicht sowas von mir geben wie:"ich fühl mich verarscht!"...Aber in die Richtung geht es dann schon,was ich da höre.
Nun will ich aber auch nicht zu hart sein!Grundsätzlich ist das schon nicht schlecht,was ich da höre.Aber auch nicht das GELBE VOM EI!Vielleicht bin ich es auch nicht mehr gewöhnt,80er-Zeug zu hören...

Autumn’s Child - Tellus Timeline

Swedish AOR/ Melodic Rock group Autumn’s Child is back with the fifth album ”Tellus Timeline”! This work contains eleven songs in the vein of the previous albums however this time with some songs with a bit harder edge!
“I think this is our best album so far”, says singer and founder Mikael Erlandsson. Autumn’s Child have their own unique way to do their music with an intent to
have a lot of different styles on each release. “Both me and Mikael are huge Slade and Sweet fans from the 70’s. The track ”Come and get it” is pure glam and was a blast to record”, says co-producer Claes Andreasson.
Magnus Rosén, former bass player of Hammerfall, again is heard on “Tellus Timeline”. Some of the new songs like the first single ”Gates of Paradise” are harder and with a Nordic touch by the help of Swedish opera singer Karin Funk.
“I have always wanted to do a duet with my old friend Jim Jidhed (solo/Alien) - and now we finally did it!”, adds Mikael, “the song “Juliet” is the Westcoast/ AOR
gem on the album where our voices really match each other in a nice way.
The opener ”A strike of lightning” really hits it off with a lot of hooks and that special guitar sound that is the trademark of guitar virtuoso Pontus Åkesson (Moon Safari).”

Ein solides Album mit GUTER Musik!
Das ist GUTE LAUNE,die mit diesem Album verbreitet wird.Und dann Vocals,die beim Ersten Mal hören "weichgespült" WIRKEN,aber nach längerem hören immer angenehmer werden für meine Ohren.Super!Da weiß jemand mit seinen Stimmbändern umzugehen!
Musikalisch ist das auch sehr angenehm zu hören.Sehr viel Abwechslung auch in der Gitarrenarbeit,die ebenfalls außerordentlich GEIL daherkommt!Der Rest der Instrumentierung?Ist "dabei" und wird dementsprechen SUPER eingesetzt!Einzig der Sound der Drums könnte ETWAS mehr "Dampf" vertragen...
Alles in ALLEM-wie zu Anfangs erwähnt-ein Solides Album mit SOLIDEN,angenehmen Songs.Der Gesamtsound ist gut gemixt worden im Studio!
Ich denke,auch nach 5 Alben insgesamt,kommt da noch mehr!Viel mehr!

Man muss sich das mal vorstellen: 1980 gegründet...Die ERSTE Single "Bittersweet" 1983...1984 das ERSTE Album...Wahnsinn!
Justin Sullivan,das letzte Gründungsmitglied und Kopf der Band,hat schon viel gesehen in dieser Zeit.Bandmitglieder kamen,Bandmitglieder gingen u.s.w.Aber die Erlebnisse bleiben.Und auch die Erfolge,die diese fantastische Band in all diesen Jahrzehnten feiern durfte verblassen NIE!
Die altbewährte Energie und ihr bekannter Sound hat sich für mich nie geändert.Und trotzdem war diese Band für mich immer interessant.Musikalisch fand ich persönlich die Musik immer sehr raffiniert und "anders".Ok-Indi halt!Aber NEW MODEL ARMY waren irgendwie immer "anders".Sie blieben sich immer musikalisch treu!Die Independent-Fahne weht weiter und das ist auch gut so!
Denn,wie alle Vorgänger-Alben,wird man auch dieses hier noch in 40 Jahren hören und denken:"Hey...die hatten eine Meinung,die haben was ausgesagt!UND die Musik ist/war Klasse!"Wenn das dann so ist,lief alles Richtig für NMA!Was will man dann als Künstler mehr?

NUBIAN ROSE - Amen

NUBIAN ROSE, the Melodic Rock sensation of the early 10’s, is back after a long hiatus. Their new album, AMEN, will be released on the 26:th of January 2024. On AMEN, Nubian Rose show a more progressive side of the band, but with their trademark foundation of strong melodies, great hooks, big guitars, and the powerful voice of Sofia Lilja. While writing AMEN, Christer and Sofia wanted to challenge themselves to take Nubian Rose to new frontiers.
“AMEN sounds very different, but hopefully in a good way”, says Sofia. “As people we are constantly growing, so why wouldn’t our music grow? And what would be the point of making another ”Mountain”, or ”Mental Revolution?”
They wanted to cut all ”obligations” that creators very often feel because of outside expectations. “We wanted to let the music flow through us, not forcing the music out of us”, says Christer. We wanted to make a dynamic album and let all our sources of inspiration have a seat at the table.
The list of inspiration for AMEN is long and diverse, with everything from Judas Priest, Rainbow and Cheap Trick to David Bowie, John Carpenter, Dalbello, Stevie Nicks, and the amazing album ”The Wanderer”, by Donna Summer AMEN is packed with analogue, vintage, synths. The gain level on the guitars is turned down a bit. Some of the songs doesn’t even have a traditional chorus and for the first time Nubian Rose has written a song that is almost 10 minutes long. But the more classic rock songs are also in the mix. The story of NUBIAN ROSE started in 2012, with their self-financed, low-key release of their debut album, ’Mountain’.
With practically no pr, the album spread like wildfire in the world of Melodic Rock and soon they were featured in some of the greatest rock publications in the World, like Classic Rock Magazine, Burrn!! with outstanding reviews. Rockers like ’Ever see your face’ and ’Mountain’ together with the majestic power ballad, ’How am I', became fan favourites. In 2014 the band released their Sophomore album, with a slightly heavier sound. Classic Rock Magazine: “MENTAL REVOLUTION tears out the speakers” 9/10 / Fireworks Magazine: “I personally think that MENTAL REVOLUTION rates as the best mainstream Female-Fronted album of recent years” / Powerplay Magazine: “If the debut was good, then this has been necking steroids since that release” – 9/10 - NUBIAN ROSE chose Pedro Ferreira to record and mix AMEN in his SpinRoad studios outside of Gothenburg, Sweden. It was a perfect place for the huge analogue sound that they were looking for, with a Neve console, tape machines, a huge room for thundering drum sounds and a beautiful grand piano. Among a lot of other things, Pedro Ferreira produced the multi-platinum album, ”Permission to land”, by The Darkness. Some highlights from the album: ‘Memorial’. A short, emotional piece, where Sofia is experiencing her own death and funeral in the lyrics - ‘Dramatic Days’. The album’s first upcoming single, with thunderous drums, big guitars, and catchy synth hooks, made for the arenas - ‘Break Down The Walls’. A high energy heavy rock tune, where Sofia brings out her inner fury - Bright Light. For the first time, Christer shares the lead vocals department with Sofia - Lost In The Mist. A powerful, progressive track, almost ten minutes long.

Netter Melodic Rock mit einer ganz guten Sängerin,die mal nicht nur "rumschreit"!Sorry für den Ausdruck "rumschreit"!Aber manchmal-ohne das ich das jetzt böse meine-gehen mir hohe Stimme so RICHTIG auf den Keks!Das frage ich micj:"Warum.Es geht doch anders!"
Und genau...es geht "ANDERS"!Diese Stmme finde ich persönlich sehr Klasse.Und vorallem verstehe ich,was gesungen wird.Da hat die Sängerin von NUBIAN ROSE einen SUPER-Job gemacht mit ihrer Stimme!
Allerdings,so finde ich,gehen die musikalischen Parts teilweise etwas unter!Die Songs klingen-ohne Stimme gedacht- schon sehr interessant und abwechslungsreich.Der letzte "Kick" fehlt mir aber.DANN würde ich sagen:"Hier stimmt alles!"Viele Passagen plätschern leider so dahin.Ne´ fettere Gitarre vermisse ich!
Alles in Allem ist aber musikalisch noch viel Luft nach oben!...und somit OK für mich!

Ja...ganz nett!Mehr aber auch nicht!Liegt vielleicht daran,das ich die o.g Genres etwas verwirrend finde in der Zusammenstellung...Und auch so,das muss ich leider sagen,verwirrend empfinde ich die Musik,die ich höre.Darauf komm ich garnicht so klar!Es ist jetzt nicht so,dass das gehörte sowas von schlecht ist!Aber manchmal beim Hören hab ich das Gefühl,das man sich noch musiklisch "ausprobiert"!Vieles klingt so "durcheinander"!Muss das so sein.Ist das beabsichtigt?Mag sein!Wenn das so ist...Ok!Kann man so machen...Wer es denn mag!

SCANNER - The Cosmic Race

The time has come! New SCANNER full-length album after almost a decade! “The Cosmic Race” will be released on January 12, 2024 and as the band’s highly decorated discography dictates, this one is a concept album: Survival on earth has become more and more difficult, natural disasters are piling up and military conflicts have reached their highest level, large parts of the continents are nuclear contaminated. Life is concentrated in a few big cities, and the narrowness and heat in them has become almost unbearable. The SCANNER, (a hybrid of human and android, our leading figure who is resident on planet GALACTOS) picks up a chosen part of human beings from Earth with huge spaceships in order to transform them into a habitable planet, called Terrion, in another Galaxy. SCANNERs army, the Space Battalion guarantees for the safety of the precious cargo (the chosen ones which have to remain in hyper sleep for decades) on the long flight through various wormholes. The long journey ends successfully. But, even in the new world, people have to defend themselves against monsters, aliens and planetary invaders (troops from other civilized planets) and start all over again right from scratch. Most are again farmers or craftsmen.
The new world is not just a mere accumulation of the products of sophisticated technologies, but a profane art of survival that begins with sowing seeds in the fields. But they also celebrate festivals and commemorate their ancestors and everyone who was once close to them and who they have left behind on earth. The new settlers defend everything newly gained with absolute passion and to their last drop of blood against their enemies. They want to take their second chance and do better than they did on Earth against all odds. However, since there are also some doubters and renegades among them who oppose the new community and endanger the "Second Chance" -project, the SCANNER has developed a system that can identify those renegades during their dream phases at night and kidnaps them before dawn., They find themselves paralyzed in a Twilight Zone. They are lashed finally to giant totem poles in a trance where dreams and reality fight each other until they are purified.

Nun also "The Cosmic Race", das siebte Album der Band und zudem die erste mit gleich drei neuen Mitgliedern an Bass, Schlagzeug und zweiter Gitarre.Gitarrist Axel Julius das letzte übrige Gründungsmitglied dieser Band!Neue "Besen" kehren gut...(ihr versteht,wie ich das meine!)
SCANNER sind ihrer Linie treu geblieben:Schöner Oldschool-Metal!Oder doch SPEED-Metal?Egal!Es knallt!
Sänger Efthimios Ioannidis ist gerade mal 21 Jahre JUNG und singt mal RICHTIG GEIL!Klasse Job,den er da gemacht hat!Das geht so RICHTIG ab!Das ganze erinnert mich an HELLOWEEN und GAMMA RAY!
Die Songs ansich machen mir SPASS und ROCKEN!Die Birne muss "bewegt" werden und die Pommesgabel muss gezeigt werden!Geht garnicht anders bei der Mucke!

Nettes Metal-Debüt in Eigenregie...
Es geht schon mal gut los: Der erste Track „Above The Law“ knallt schon mal gut los!Hören wir mal weiter...Was mir gut gefällt,ist die Tatsache,das ich vorwiegend Gitarrenlastiges Material höre.Immer Keyboards etc....Muss nicht permanent zu hören sein auf einem Album.Man hört hier auf diesem Album ab und an die Keys-gut so!
Sänger Nick Adam ist nicht unbedingt DER Sangesgott und erinnert mich stark an einen jungen Vince Neil,der das ja auch nie wirklich war.Allerdings gefällt mir die Stimmfarbe bei Nick Adam...
Die Liedchen ansich.,..Ja-die sind rauh und auf den Punkt gespielt.Da wird von Anfang an nicht lang rumdezappelt.Es geht gleich immer gut ab!Das ist auch schon mal gut.Ich mag Songs einfach nich,wenn man 1 Minute oder teilweise noch länger warten muss,bis der eigendliche Song ENDLICH mal losgeht!
ABER...Nach 2/3 des Albums hab ich aber so das Gefühl,das da langsam,Song für Song...wie bei einem Fahrradreifen...die Luft entweicht.Und dann die Covernummer des MIKE & THE MECHANICS Überhits „Silent Running“...Leute...NETT gemeint.ABER das ist mal ein "Rohrkrepierer" aller ERSTER SAHNE!
UND irgendwann am Ende...SORRY-ich muss es mal so sagen:Der Reifen ist PLATT!Stark angefangen,HEFTIG nachgelassen!Schade!

“It doesn’t sound like it, but 'Cosmic Mess' was written on the piano. I think it was toward the end of the writing process on Joseph, and I was thinking it would be good to have another prologue sort of song. One of my main takeaways from the Joseph story is that it was necessary for all the terrible things to happen to Joseph to put him at the right hand of pharaoh, so that he could feed/save the whole world and be reunited with his family. So that’s what I am singing about in the chorus… The darkness must come in order for the light to fully show up. Anyway, I played all the instruments on this, including the drums, and had a fine time doing it.”
In the latter part of 2022, NEAL MORSE dedicated his creative efforts to following up the successful release of 'Jesus Christ the Exorcist' by crafting a new rock opera. Inspiration flowed, resulting in nearly two hours of music that narrates the story of Joseph, known for his coat of many colors, through the lens of progressive rock, in a style that is uniquely NEAL MORSE.
Rather than presenting two hours simultaneously as a double album, NEAL opted to release Joseph's new rock opera in two separate volumes, believing that the strength of both the music and the story warranted this approach, as each album could independently stand as a testament to its intrinsic value. Now, to continue the story told in 'The Dreamer - Joseph: Part One', this talented and prolific artist carries on Joseph's story with melodious drama in 'The Restoration - Joseph: Part Two.'

They collaborate with members of the Neal Morse Band, such as Bill Hubauer and Eric Gillette, among others. Together, they breathe life into this familiar tale through extraordinary music that promises to captivate progressive rock enthusiasts once more.

Der zweite Teils der Rockoper um Joseph...Also der in seinem bunten Mantel!Im letzten Jahr erschien ja schon bereits Teil 1...
Naja..Musikalisch und gesanglich und auch kompositorisch hat Neal Morse einmal mehr aus dem Vollen geschöpft.Wer kann der KANN!
Weggefährten von SPOCK’S BEARD (wie z.B. Alan Morse und Ted Leonard) und der NEAL MORSE BAND (z.B. Eric Gillette) aber auch Ross Jennings (HAKEN) oder Jake Livgren (KANSAS etc.) und Sohn Will Morse haben "geholfen" diese an für sich interessante Rockoper auf die Beine zu stellen.Nochmal zum musikalischen...DAS ist schon der Hammer.Für mich ist das in seiner Gesamtheit nix.Was ja meine PERSÖNLICHE Meinung ist!Zum ZWISCHENDURCH HÖREN find ich das ganz ok.
Viellseitigkeit ist auf diesem Album in seinem eigendlichen Verlauf bestimmt vorhanden:Mal viel Gesang,dann wieder "NUR" Intrumentenparts.Alles wechselt sich ab und macht das ganze interessant und abwechslungsreich!Die Mischung macht´s.Und diese Mischung ist gut und lässt keine Langeweile zu!
Ich kann euch das Teil empfehlen-auch den 1. Teil!Man muss es "nur" mögen...ALSO Rockopern wie diese hier!Wie erwähnt:Ab und zu...DAS ist ok...für mich!
